BSOD, Laptop will only start in Safe Mode, Need Help ASAP

First of all I'd like to say I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers/laptops. I've been told by a friend that the attached picture is the BSOD... I'm not sure if it is or not but I need my laptop to be running ASAP because of my job. I'm not sure how this happened to my laptop or if its a virus from a download? Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem? Also my laptop does start in all 3 of the Safe Modes that Windows 7 offers... This screen only comes up when I start Windows Normally...

Hello Cadle and welcome to Sevenforums.

Safe mode problems

Let me get this, you cannot get into the normal version of Windows 7, other than the safe mode? If you can move around in Safe mode, check up on this.

Press rb: | Type 'msconfig' |
Goto 'Boot' | Make sure 'Safe boot' isn't ticked.

About the BSOD

Your Minidump content should be in the folder at the path C:\Windows\Minidump. If there's no files inside, make sure minidumps are enabled by -

Go to Start, then Run, then type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on the Startup and Recovery button
Ensure that "Automatically restart" is unchecked
Under the Write Debugging Information header select "Small memory dump (64 kB)" in the dropdown box
Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as "%systemroot%\Minidump" (without the quotes)
Click OK twice to exit the dialogs, then reboot for the changes to take effect.

Next time you'd experience a BSOD, a dump is supposed to be generated. When it's generated, wrap it up in a zip and upload it.

Thank you for the reply FredeGail, I followed the steps you listed and ended the BSOD with the following:

"Collecting data for crash dump ...
Initializing disk for crash dump ...
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system admin or technical support group for further assitance"

The BSOD prior to this one didn't dump the physical memory. Does this mean the problem is fixed and I just need to reboot? or that I need to contact my admin for more help?

Next time you'd experience a BSOD, a dump is supposed to be generated. When it's generated, wrap it up in a zip and upload it.

I don't know how to wrap it up in a zip and upload it...

Reboot and return to your Minidump folder, which is the C:\Windows\Minidump path. If you've experienced a BSOD after you configured the Minidumps, there should be files in here. Wrap it all up in a zip file, and attach them to this forum.
Sorry, it's a lot to ask - but once we have those files, we can diagnose your problem detailed.

NOTE: You will not be able to access the .dmp files directly from the Minidump folder. All directories in the Windows directory are protected to prevent hacking and viruses from damaging the system.
