BSOD during gaming and idle - ntoskrnl.exe?

Hey Guys,

I'm getting more and more frequent BSOD's on a new build whilst gaming and idle or browsing the web. Blue Screen View is pointing it's finger at ntoskrnl.exe

My system is custom built, only about 1 month old.

Win 7 Professional SP1 (retail)
i5-3570k - stock
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
Sapphire HD 7850 - stock
8gb G.Skill Ripjaws
Crucial M4 64bg boot drive
1.5tb external HDD
XFX Pro 750w PSU

I had messed around with a bit of OCing at the start but have everything set to stock now.

Mosy common culprits;

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT 0x0000004e

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b

Oh I reinstalled AVG the other day as there was 2 BSODs attributed to that so that does not seem to be causing trouble anymore

Hope I've attached everything ok.

Any help would be great!



:EDIT: I tried running the perform /report but it's just sitting there running and nothing is happening.

Thanks for the reply. I have attached the correct file this time. I tried re-running perfmon /report but all that happens is the window opens and the report status says "gathering information for 60 seconds." The nothing happens. i left it running and it crashed after about 5 minutes, just got a pop up saying "resource and performance monitor has stopped working etc" and a couple of seconds later BSOD Page Fault in Non Paged Area 0x050. I added that dump file to the zip.

Also I ran windows memory diagnostic last night but it didn't show anything up. I'm going to run memtest now for a while and see if anything happens. Will report back.

Just a quick update. I ran memtest for 2 hours. It completed 2 passes and had about 1.38 million errors. I hit esc to reboot into windows at that stage and it did so fine but I don't know if I have a log or result sheet or whatever from memtest. Should there be one?

Quick update, ran mem test with a single stick, it completed 1 pass in 20 minutes with zero errors

I tired it with the second stick and 1 minute in there over 23,000 errors ...... do I have a bogey stick of ram? Will that be the culprit for all my woes?

Yup, Memtest is very reliable. That stick of RAM is almost definitely faulty. If the computer is under warranty, send it back to the manufacturer. If it is custom built, send the RAM back or buy some to replace it. If you are doing that, make sure all the sticks of RAM match or you could have more issues.

Thanks for the fast response Stephen! It is custom built but its only a month old. If I RMA the RAM I assume I will have to send both sticks back as they were a paired pack? THIS is the exact RAM I bought form this website.

In the mean time, is it safe to run the PC with only 1 stick in? Windows seems to be running fine, haven't tried gaming or anything yet.

You would probably have to RMA both sticks yes.

But w7 will work fine with only one stick of RAM. It might be slightly less responsive than normal but nothing major.
