Reconfigured D drive on hard drive, now I cant boot

Reconfigured D drive afterward I couldn't boot my computer. Tried various methods to recover. I run Windows 7 home premium 32bit. As for why I reconfigured the drive, there was a virus on the drive that my antivirus couldnt remove, and I knew reconfiguring a drive would destroy any file on the drive... and since the drive was labeled RECOVERY I assumed that the drive was backup only and was not needed to boot the computer. Yes I feel very stupid. No, I wont do it ever again. So help please? I have an upgrade disk for windows 7 and I tried everything that I could think of, startup recovery didn't detect anything. soooooo.... Any ideas?

Hi,

By "reconfigure", do you mean format? It sounds as if you reformatted the entire disk, including the Recovery partition? Is that correct?

Fooling with your D partition should have had no affect on C:
Have you tried a startup repair with your windows 7 disc up to 3 times ?

Did you format C: and D:? If you only formatted D:, then there should be no problem in booting. It you formatted both of them, the only thing you can do to get your PC going is to install Win 7 again on your C: drive. Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Boot - Windows 7 Forums

Make sure the 100mb System Reserved (preferred) or Win7 partition are marked Active or the 3 Startup Repairs will not know where to repair/rewrite the boot files.

You may be still infected so check that first as Win7 won't repair sometimes when infected.
