Can't access network computers

Hi everyone.
I have this problem too.I'm on homegroup and i can see the other computer as well as mine but when i double click on a computer icon (even mine) the message "\\computerName is not accessible.you might not have permission to use this network resourse.contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.the specified network path is invalid."
the othe computer can access mine and i was able to transfer files between the two computers ,even shared a dvd-rom on my computer successfully.
I tried the homegroup as well as network troubleshooters and they didn't find problems.
could this be a service-related problem ? I know this thread is old but I'd appreciate if someone is kind enough to help.
Thanks in advance and sorry if my language is bad.

Yes, this is the solution.

Just to clarify what steps need to be done for ppl who are unclear (I also had same problem)

Open network and sharing center
Click change adapter settings
Open property of LAN.
Click properties

Click install
Select client
Click ADD

Then click OK.

Now this is an important step.
Make sure you are not browsing the network, so close explorer window.

Click Disable on LAN status window
Then click ENABLE.

Now you can open explorer and click network.
Then click the network computer
and now it will prompt for the username and password of that computer
.

Note: Make sure you have a User + password on that network computer you are trying to browse.
