Can't access network shares

I have a windows 7 pro on a dell m6800 laptop. Also a windows 10 installation on dell xfr 7414. My win 10 installation can see my network shares on my qnap servers. From the win 7 machine I can ping the servers just fine.

When I try to access those shares on win 7 I get the following error:

Error Code: 0x80070035
The network patch was not found

I have tried googling solutions, did the regedit, system policies, turned off firewall .... still nothing I do results in this error.

Any help greatly appreciated ....

Can you try by IP ie \\192.168.1.5\sharename

yes, its when I try to do the \\192.168.2.50 or \\192.168.2.50\Data, same thing happens ....
