Solved Random BSOD after system maintenance

Hello all,
I had installed a Samsung 830 128 GB SSD about 3 weeks ago. I cloned my then C: drive as opposed to a clean install. Things were OK for a while, then I had graphic and sound issues with games that I had installed long ago (Steam COD games specifically). I tried a number of solutions to no avail (most other programs worked correctly). I gave up and did a clean install of windows to the SSD and reinstalled some other programs (Steam and games, already on a different drive). Graphics problem persisted so I tore the machine apart, cleaned up the cable layout, re-seated everything and yesterday all performed correctly. This AM, I got 2 BSODs very soon after booting up. Knowing that I'd be posting here now, I ran MEMTEST all day while I was at work, 5 passes no errors. Dump etc attached as per the new instructions (not JGriff anymore). Help...

Edit: By posting this, I realize that my computer will 'behave' for at least 2 days or until I repost saying 'all is well'. It's like going to a repair shop and trying to reproduce a symptom in an ailing car...

Hi Arc, thanks for the reply:
1. as said in the original post, I did memtest before posting this. All was well
2. OK, I'll try driver verifier
3. Realtek driver is for the onboard sound device. I'm pretty sure it's disabled in the BIOS, but windows might have picked it up. I have the most up to date creative drivers for my product that I can find.
4. I have already installed MSE, have used it since I installed Win7

OK, enabled Verifier and it BSOD'd until I booted in Safe Mode and turned it off. Dump(s) attached. I disabled the Realtek critter, it was my wired network adapter (don't use it). Ugh. Help me Obi Wan, you're my only hope...

got BSOD'd to death this morning. I've booted in safe mode and I'm going to scan for malware with everything I can find. Starting with MBAM and then SuperAntiSpyware, we'll see how that goes.

Anti virus found 1 Trojan and some cookies. I rebooted in normal mode and the machine behaved all last night. This morning another BSOD.... Arc, can you look at the driver verifier dumps above please? This is driving me nuts!!

It only happened the one time this AM. What did you get out of the previous dump that I did after using driver verifier? Should be something good there since it wouldn't even boot (endless loop of BSODs) until I booted in safe mode and turned verifier off. Thanks for your continued help, BTW.

When you update graphics card drivers do you un-install the old one first, then run Driver Sweeper?

One thing that keeps coming up in the crashes is memory issues.
Run memtest86+ again for a full 7 passes, best to run overnight.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Stop the test if you get any errors.
It may take several runs to find an error, just the way electronics are, it only takes one memory error to crash your system.
A easy test would be to remove either the two PNY cards or the two Crucial cards, test for stability (see if it crashes), crash or not swap the two cards out for the others and test for stability.

1. I do uninstall the old drivers, but haven't run driver sweeper. I will uninstall current and do that
2. I'll see if there is a newer version of the VPN client, I only use it to dial in to work.
3. I will check for updates to the Apple software
4. IE9 installed
5. I'll download and run the western digital thing
6. I have run memtest 7+ passes multiple times since I built this rig. Never saw an error, but I've been thinking about trying your suggestion (taking out 2 and seeing if all is well)

I have uninstalled iTunes, all of the Nvidia stuff, all the Creative stuff and the Cisco client.
I ran driver sweeper and let it do it's thing.
I reinstalled the audio and video drivers.
We'll see how it goes. Ignore the above dumps

As I posted earlier (I think) my PC is not a morning person. 2 dumps, 1 yesterday AM, 1 this morning. I don't think that 'it gets better after it warms up' applies because i cold started it in the evening the last couple of days and no problems.

When was the last time you ran memtest86+?
Did you take out two ram cards and test for stability?
I have sen many times memtest86+ will not show errors for several runs (minimum 7 passes) and then on the next run it shows errors, just the way electronics are, one error is too many.

Did you run the Hard drive tests?

This is the NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service.
You can disable Stereoscopic 3D through the NVIDIA Control Panel, also disable the service through Services.msc, just to be sure the process doesn't run anymore.

You're getting a lot of app crashes, mostly games, Run the hardware tests.

When was the last time you ran memtest86+?
Did you take out two ram cards and test for stability?
I have sen many times memtest86+ will not show errors for several runs (minimum 7 passes) and then on the next run it shows errors, just the way electronics are, one error is too many.

Did you run the Hard drive tests?

Hi Dave,
I last ran MemTest about a week ago, 5 passes, no errors. I have done this about 10 times since I built the rig ('bout 18 months now I think). Never got an error. I AM going to reseat the RAM tonight, it's the only component I didn't reseat when I tore the box apart last week. I have not yet run the Western Digital thing, does that work with SSDs as well? I looked at the other link (heat problem). I have been running Speedfan and the temps seem to behave as they should. I will do the Western Digital thing after I reseat the RAM tonight and get back to you.

Regarding RAM and Memtest:
Since I've never gotten an error any time I've run this (always will all RAM installed) I was thinking about trying the following:
1. pull out the PNY RAM and run for a while. If problems, pull the Crucial Ram and put the PNY RAM in the Crucial's slots. If no problems, probably Crucial RAM.
2. If no problems at all in scenario above, put PNY RAM back where it came from, slot wise, remove Crucial and run for a while. if problems, put PNY in the Crucials original slots and run. If problems is PNY Ram.
If none of this is conclusive, I'll take one stick at a time and go through the 'test all sticks in all slots' Memtest route. I'll need a week off from work for that
Definition of 'no problems' 7 days without a BSOD that might even REMOTELY be because of RAM.

Thoughts?
