If you are talking about Windows Server 2008 R2, it doesn't have WEI functionality. In Windows Server 2012, you can add the WEI functionality using the necessary files from Windows 8 and registering their dlls to the server os.

lol I'm hoping that this PC will last a long time, but I can't see myself buying a pre-built PC ever again. And yeah, I had a lot of help from friends with choosing the right hardware .

Now the only thing this rig needs is an SSD.

Yup an SSD will make your eyes bleed with high performance. you could upgrade, if possible, to an i5 CPU too.

@Britton30, I thought about an i5, but I decided not to. The reason is that the i3 I got is already a very fast CPU compared to my previous laptop, and plus it has hyper-threading technology.

Hope I'm not going too off-topic, but what sizes would you guys recommend for an SSD? I was thinking of an 120GB because I plan on getting some games. But if I went lower, I could get one sooner (because of the cheaper price)....not to mention I need to upgrade my old 17" standard monitor, lol.

I ran for a year with a 64GB and never ran out of space. Just move your user files and games to a spinning hard drive. Use the SSD for OS and programs.

Yeah a 64GB would be plenty if you split the Users to a HDD. A bigger SSD seems to read/write faster then smaller ones though. I've not measured them, but the specs say so if you compare brand for brand.

Okay so right now my OS and programs are taking up 49.6GBs (with no documents etc.). So I think I could survive with a 64GB.....especially if I move my games over to the HDD. But I'm thinking of going a little higher just to future-proof it more.

Many of the higher end SSD's don't have a very good value at the 64GB level. Most of the time you'll find that for a few bucks more you can get the 120/128GB model. Also, some SSD's see a hit in performance when 50% or more of the drive has data on it, add that to the already decreased performance of a 64GB drive and you might have wished you'd gone with a bigger drive. The reason most of us buy a SSD is for performance, which equals happiness..........and low performance equals less happiness.

EDIT: A 64GB SSD is still a world faster than a mechanical spinner though, was just trying to add some perspective.

Buy once, cry once. Quite a few 120/128GB SSDs for around $100 these days, even some of the higher performance ones! As long as you buy a quality brand, it should last you several years.

Buy once, cry once. Quite a few 120/128GB SSDs for around $100 these days, even some of the higher performance ones! As long as you buy a quality brand, it should last you several years.

I'm still crying, my 1st 128Gb SSD was $198...on sale then.

That is what my Intel 320 120GB was spring 2011.

They had a Sammsung 830 256GB for about $160 the other day.
I wanted one but have the Sam 830 128GB and the Intel already so I didn't get one.

@Britton30, thanks for the suggestion, but I try to avoid the rebate stuff. The reason why is I don't have any hardware to return, and it takes a while to get money back.

BTW, maybe Newegg will have a special sale or something in November . I've been getting a lot of 24/48-hour deals on SSDs lately.
