Solved Why is my GTX680 benchmark so low?

is it possible vsync is on either in the benchmark tool or the nvidia control panel?
...you want everything in that control panel set to application decide for the bench.
I only ask because I just got basically the same score as you and discovered my vsync was on in the nvidia panel. Turning it off got my score back up to what I'm used too

Nope. Just double checked.

yeah I'm running about 300-400 points over you in my own tests @displayed settings.
Statistically your card should be about 12-20% higher than me.
I have a faster cpu though, and it's also clocked just a little bit right now.

I have heard in the past that the cards with much larger memory on board were slightly slower.
Also since you have an EVGA I highly suggest you get precision from them. You don't really need to mess with the default fan curve with air you have to be preventive and get on the heat before it has a chance to build up. You will notice by the time it's up to 50 or 60 percent the fan will start getting a tad audible which is why a lot of people don't like it. It makes sure the fan on the card actually responds to the heat though. Instead of always turning at around 20% until it's dangerously hot and then zooming to max.

It does need to be 'on' and running in your tray to work. Shouldn't be a problem your system has similar specs to mine.

Yes, BIOS/UEFI, whichever you board has. Intel board also have, Virtu(?) which uses the on chip GPU and the card like an SLI or Crossfire setup, disable that.

This answer helped me. I'm closing this thread. Thanks to all who offered their time to help me out.
