Laptop cant connect to the internet using wifi

I cant connect to any wireless connection. I tried at my house and school and it shows either a red x, yellow triangle, or yellow ball showing connections are available. I can connect through ethernet though. I ran into this problem a few weeks ago but it was fixed after I did a malware scan but I have done many scans and everything clean. I also did ipconfig. Can someone help me?

Also, more specific specs on your system would be helpful.
Model number ...stuff like that.

It wouldn't hurt to look for updated driver/software for your wifi device either.
Which I could point you to if I knew what kind of system we were dealing with.

I ran sfc scannow and it said there was corrupt files but could not fix some of them.

Im running a dell inspiron 1440
intel core 2 duo processor

I also updated my wifi driver earlier today

Ok I did everything and restarted my computer and it seems to be working at the moment but its been know to stop working lol. Hopefully its fixed and if it is thank you! You saved me a lot of time and money! Very much appreciated. If something happens where it brakes again ill just come back here. Also should I run that scan again to make sure everything is good?

It will likely keep coming up as bad. (in the scan that is)
Hopefully the rework of it took on reboot and you are settled.
It's very likely the malware is to blame for this.
If it's gone you should be okay now.

So this morning the problem came back. It said I was connected but with no internet access.

What is that and how do you do it?

I have some questions about this. First will I still have all my programs and documents on my computer? or is there a chance they will be deleted? Also my windows 7 is already activated so after the installation how do I activate it again? Finally I can just use the installation disk that came with my computer to do this correct? or would it be easier to download an iso?

The page explains it as well as I possibly could.
In a nutshell it reverts all the windows properties and core system files to a fresh install state.
You have corrupt system files. I was hoping we could work around it.
This is the best way to restore windows without costing you your data or installed programs.

ok so im repair installing my computer right now so im on a different computer. The transgerring files settings and programs is stuck at 62% for a few hours now... how do i fix this?

The only reason a repair install should have problem is if there is actually hardware damage involved.
To be honest I've never actually heard of repair install failing.
You don't have your antivirus running while it's trying to repair do you?

No I have avg but i disabled everything before I ran the repair install

ok so I finally installed all the way, i guess 62% took several hours to configure or something lol. But anyways nothing new happened. I still cant connect to the internet. Also now i have to activate windows again but I dont know where the product key is because it came installed on my laptop...

The key will be on a special type of sticker, either on the bottom of your laptop or possibly inside the space the battery goes in.

ok found it it was in my battery compartment. So how can I fix my wireless problem though?
