Solved A question I wanted to ask long time ago

Why is it that some people posting in a forum do not post " live " links ?
The links they post are always unclickable.
These people are no novice. One of them is a MVP.
Why ?
When you answer an OP's question and provide a link, what's wrong with posting a link the OP can click open ?
Some Ops may not know how to use the unclickable links.

It bugs me everytime I see that.

My guess is that the link and text had been copied and pasted from another post or something. Links don't do well with that alone. A copy and paste like that must be selected and use the

icon in the toolbar to clear it's format after pasted for the link to look and work properly.

Well, they could go back to the source and copy the url, come back and paste.
That's part of the " service " if one wants to help an OP.

Sure thing. You would just need to highlight what you wanted to be underlined, then click on the

icon on the toolbar to underline what you have highlighted.

I did underline it using the U and then I highlighted it > I clicked Insert Link icon > pasted the url to the box > clicked OK > it came out not underlined.
Not only that, the hyperlink led to nowhere.
So, no underline, link does not work either.
It is supposed to be easy......I need a stiff drink...... ha ha ha

Just copy the link from the address bar, paste in your post, highlight first and then use the U to underline.

Your other links had http twice, that's why they went nowhere.

OK. But how come it leads to neverland ?
It says Internet cannot display the web page.
I know all the tutorials about this error message.
Question is, I have no trouble posting links except when I tried to underline it.

I've no idea what you are trying to accomplish but cut the crap and just paste a link, the site software sorts it out from there
