"Mr GRiM's Glossy Blue/Black Glass Icon Pack" Installer

With kind permission from Mr GRiM, I thought I'd make an install script to make the installation of the excellent 'Mr GRiM's Glossy Blue Icon Pack' a lot easier for everyone.

It's a couple of batch files that run without aid from any other third-party applications. It runs from within your current Windows 7 setup without the need to boot into another operating system or without the need to enter Safe Mode either.

Here's the contents of the "README.txt" file...

   Note

I MUST stress that everyone who decides to use the installer should manually creates backups of the files affected themselves, just as a safety precaution with the script being new.
(The script does create backups and a System Restore Point but there is no harm in being extra safe!)

The affected files are as listed in the Readme.

   Note

If anyone is trying to update or re-install and cant re-run the install because of a 'Already Installed' warning it's because the 'Delete_Backups._cmd' isn't being renamed automatically,

To fix this just rename the file 'Delete_Backups._cmd' to 'Delete_Backups.cmd' in the 'Data' folder and run it as admin.
(or use the download below in this note and run that as admin.)

(If you've downloaded the icons in the past and don't fancy re-downloading the whole pack, here's the new 'Cleanup' script separately, just place it in the 'Data' folder and run.)

(Other builds will be available shortly!)
Don't forget to thank Mr GRiM if you like the icons, their his icons and without him these icon packs wouldn't be available.. I just wrote the install/uninstall scripts to make the installation process easier.

Updates:
6th Aug 2009: Brand new Mr GRiM's Ultimate icon pack added.
27th July 2009: Mr GRiM's Black Glass icon pack added.
23rd July 2009: Added separate x86 7100 version & 7100 'AIM' problems now fixed.
19th July 2009: Added downloads for build 7100 and build 7600 ( .16384 & .16385 ).
17th July 2009: Icon Pack Installer updated to include icons for Floppy/Bluray drives.
Can the ultimate icon pack have a link for build 7100 32 bit version RC?

The black folder with the green writing may be the best thing ever created. That is freaking awesome! Nice job Grim. :D

Also, in case you didn't catch that, I may have been hinting that that is a set that should come into creation. :P

Thanks for all your hard work guys.

I did not visit this first page in a while and did not notice the new black and ultimate packs til now....great friggin work, m8!

Thanks for all your hard work guys.

Thanks blackrose, I'm glad you liked them, I have to agree there is something about that green one that just stands out, I think I will probably do one with the green theme for you but not sure when or if the look will remain the same

It would be nice if there was one created for all the colors - but if it has to be just one, I vote red :D

Yes it would be nice to have one for all but unfortunately it's not that easy, I think I will have to start doing all my work on Photshop to make things a bit easier, that way I can have all the layers sved in one file and I just change certain aspects without having to recreate the whole icon again.

Anyway I think I'm improving with these icons and learning how to make them better and make them easier so you never know, you might have a full ranged colour set for the next ones.

Thanks mate, maybe I need to change the thread Title so people know that it's not just the Blue ones available, I'm glad you like them though and I will see what I can do about the colour change.

Hey guys,
I'm running Build 7229 and i love the folders you guys have created.
Are the glossy blue folders the only ones available to me since the Black are 7600 or could the Black folders work?
Anyone have any problems with them at all? So far looks like the reaction to them is 100% positive.

I haven't tried installing then on that build but you could try it if you like, just make sure you make a restore point first and if you try it can you let me know how it goes.

I don't think it's gonna go well ;) one of the other members (Dogz) tried the black glass icons on 7100 and needed to do a system restore.

I know but 7229 is not that old and I don't think there were any changes in those dll's really compared to whats in the RTM, I say give it a go, it will work or it wont, there's no harm in trying as you can always restore it.

You mean a '.7z' file?, it's a 7-zip file.. It's another form of a zip file and can be opened with either 7-Zip or WinRar. 7-Zip enables greater compression and it's free! :D (it can half the size of stuff compared to WinRar).

Sorry, I should have mentioned about the file changes in the first post. (I'll update the post now.)
