Well I'm retired from paid work, never have been paid to bring up kids and look after a home and husband but I still have to do it

That's the most important job there is, being a mother. I'm just sorry too many of us (including me) realize that when it's almost too late. Only now, when my mother is over 70 and I'm living in an other country, I've started to understand everything she did for me and my siblings.

Work? For me it's more like a hobby, I run a small IT-consulting company. Earning far less I could when working for somebody else but I like it.

Personally I'm not competent enough to do this but because I'm quite good to delegate and find the right person to do the job, our customers seem to be satisfied.

i live in a bungalow on a farm/small hotel. i get real-cheap rent if i serve breakfast in the dining room for an hour most summer mornings. the rest of the day is mine.

i get money helping local n00bs with their computers.

i also look after cats, but don't regard that as work.

I can still remember my baby sister (yes, I still call her that) forcefully explaining the difference between a designer and a decorator. My ears are still ringing.

Well, I suppose I could also be called a 'Decorator' too, because I did go into homes and re-arrange furniture, accessories, helped install custom made (as to my specifications) draperies ... I did a lot of detail work, as well as design.

How I got interested in computers only came with the need for knowledge about the inner workings of malware. I'm so totally addicted (and dedicated) to this, that I have to find out how they affect the different Windows OS's.
