I'm getting BSOD pretty much at random once or twice a day on my 64 bit version of Win 7(doesn't happen on the x86) I copied the error log:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 3b
BCP1: 00000000C0000005
BCP2: FFFFF800035D5211
BCP3: FFFFF880084AAAB0
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1

And used the sf Diagnostic Tool to get all the important stuff(zip is attached)

The BSOD's started happening after I installed Service Pack 1 if that helps at all.

I have mbam installed as my anti virus...

And thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOO much for this, it seems to have worked, I updated both drivers and haven't blue screened all day! I'll check back in in a couple of days if I stay problem free just to make sure it did actually fix the problem though. :D

MBAM is not an antivirus, it is an on demand scanner. An excellent program, must to say. Beside it, use Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows.

Now it is an waiting game. Wait and see how it works. Let us know the situation.

Actually, The paid version of MBAM has live system monitoring(and I have windows defender turned on too)

And I just got another BSOD(one I've never seen before)

And this time your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Dont take it otherwise, but you cannot trust paid MBAM or specially windows defender totally. MBAM is very good scanner, but windows defender is not a very efficient program. You should opt for Microsoft Security Essentials. It will never let you understand that you have an AV program installed, and will give you best security at the same time.

Okay, I installed security essentials and started driver verifier And now I bluescreen right after the startup animation And before I can get to the welcome screen...... should I boot into safe mode to see if I can get the log files?

IF DV crashes before you get into your desktop, you must have applied it improperly.

Disable it in safe mode. Then boot normally and enable it again, make it sure that you are not checking any drivers provided by microsoft.

Do it slowly, following all the steps of the tutorial very properly. Otherwise DV will not come in any help :(

It's actually the same instructions, just from the command line..... Also, I went to the driver verifier thread, posted the BSOD i'm getting, and told them you said I was doing something wrong.... The reply I got from Vir Gnarus was as follows:

"I'm not understanding why they're saying that. Driver Verifier is designed to cause BSODs by adding extra driver checks in Windows, making it more paranoid to possible bugs. The bugcheck code I see in that bluescreen snapshot you made does show a 0xC5 crash, which was made by Driver Verifier, meaning it found a driver doing something erroneous and it crashed the system in response. Often it may do this at startup when the driver loads because when the driver loads up it may already have a bug in the works, which DV will detect and respond. You'll want to go to the thread you made and post the resulting crashdumps from the crashes that DV made. Those DV-created crashdumps are more reliable than regular ones."

I would be more than happy to post the crash dumps for this BSOD again as long as you are going to help me with my problem instead of telling me i'm doing something wrong when the program is doing exactly what it's supposed to do...
