Solved my laptop turns off with out my permission

Hi
I have a probook4520 HP laptop
but it has a problem
when I use it for a long time or convert big files or do some graphical jobs it turns off with out my permission
what should I do
In Ubuntu OsS I have this problem too
please help me

install a temp monitoring software like temp core and let us know what the temps are reading during idle and heavy load like that which is turning off your computer. This sounds like a possible overheating issue, when was the last time you cleaned the computer by using something like an air can to clean your fans and vents?

I was just about to suggest this and also ask where does the laptop sit when you are using it? Has it a clear space underneath and I would re iterate the need to "blow" the dust out frequently. IMHO it is overheating!

That is very hot! Could you post a screenshot of the results please, and I would suggest you clean the inside of the case and clean the fan blades using a cotton wool bud and a can of compressed air.

Also, raise the back of the laptop a few CM from the surface to improve the airflow, and always place the laptop on a suitable surface (table/desk for example).

It's not automatically , the GPU or CPU overheats , you need additional cooling or checking the components.

I'm betting this machine is full of dust and fluff. Try Googling " Taking apart a probook4520 HP laptop" and buy a couple of cans of air specially marketed for this job (the air must be bone dry so get the right can for the job)

Also, I would add that even when getting the dry air, make sure you don't put it directly on anything as it can "freeze" that component causing damage, I recommend a minimum of 3-6 inches away for preventing damage.

I don't think he physically cleaned his system, but I think the OP marked it as solved based on the advice before actually verifying if that was indeed what what causing the issue. There are some other things that can cause this, but Heat is the major one that causes his issue.
