Looks like a bad slot. Took forever for the bios to load (another problem i experienced along with bsod), and all the other slots didnt have this problem. I tried 2 different sticks well

i was able to get windows running for a while using 2 other slots, then received a windows message about a video issue that it was able to correct, and about a minute later another bsod. ran memtest on the 2 slots i have running and didnt see any issues after 7 tests

edit- twice ive gotten the special pool detected memory corruption bsod with this configuration

Is the motherboard or any other part under warranty?
I think you should test the RAM on a different computer whether the sticks are faulty at all.

An update- ran memcheck again on all the sticks, in various slots, and this morning ran it with all 4 in again
No errors. Very strange

Did you try test them on another computer?
Strange yes, but I feel the motherboard is having a problem.

Are all the ram voltages/clock speeds the same?

i tried two sticks on another computer, no problems, and will try the other two now. its an unused computer at work, so all i did was open basically everything in office, ie8, and quickbooks. do you suggest memcheck as well?

do you suggest memcheck as well?
Yes..

2 things before we can say that the MB is the culprit:

  1. 1. Test your hard drive on the other computer.
  2. 2. Swap the PSU. (If possible)
Let us know the results.

An update: i installed the new stick last night, and the computer worked fine. So, I am assuming the problems came from the faulty stick, and will install the other 3 tonight and see what happens
