Hi all!

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit on a domain

I've NEVER seen this before and I cant figure it out.

I have a group policy set on an OU named LAPTOPS. The policy gets applied, however the User Config\Windows Setting\Scripts\Logon DOES NOT. When you run the GPRESULTS on the laptop, I see the policy settings being applied EXCEPT for the LOGON script. Its not there. I dont see any errors and cant figure out why Windows would ignore this one setting in the policy but apply the rest. I've tried deleting and recreating the policy but that does not work. Also made sure I did a GPUPDATE /FORCE

Thanks in advance!

Is a policy enforced on a domain or site level?

Where are you storing the login script? Make sure it has the right permissions--easiest way is to plop it into your NETLOGON folder.

I dont believe it to be a permissions issue because its not even coming up as part of the policy. In other words, if I saw logon.vbs in the GPRESUTLTS info and the script wasn't running, I would think permissions. BUt in this case, its not in the results. Its as if I dont have the setting activated.

Thank you for the suggestions.

If you have an enforced policy on the domain level the OU level will not work.
gpo processing order
1.Local
2.Site
3.Domain
4.Ou

Site will overwrite local, domain will overwrite site, and OU will overwrite Domain. Unless one of the policy's has been enforced. Then it will automatically get it from the higher policy.

I don't have any policies enforced. And I can see some of the settings from the policy in questions being applied, but the system seems to be ignoring the script setting and the enforced printers setting (just found out about enforced printers).

I have a limited knowledge of GPO so more experienced members will have to take over. If I do find something out I will let you know.
