New build; Computer not starting up

I'm sorry but without any beeps you aren't even posting past the CPU and I really trust that it's not a PSU issue or connections with all the checking you've done. I would reach out to ASUS, buy chance did you get these parts from a local vendor/shop? if so then you could also drop it all off and see if they have an idea.

90% of the time it boils down to something simple or over looked. But as the CPU fan isn't even spinning or you get any beeps????? Don't lose heart it's just a momentary set back and all part of the fun !!!

I'll keep thinking about anything missed, lets hope another comes along with a fresh idea....stay the course it will likely be something stupidly simple ! I ran into this same problem with my new i7 build but my new/old stock mobo turned out wasn't in the proper bios update and it had to be flashed to see the i7...but that's my solution.

I do not know what that is.

It is the coin sized battery on your motherboard also they have a clear cmos button on your board as well instead of taking out the battery

I am assuming this because most of the new MB has that feature mine has it

But if you take the batery out and place it back in that is what you call clearing Cmos

It wouldn't be a bad idea to open up the armor where this battery resides just so you know where it is and how much effort it could take to swap the battery as they will go bad but normally it takes a couple years.

It did t come with a second battery, and i dont have another.

You don't need a new battery just remove wait 10 sec's and replace after wiping clean with a soft dry cloth. Use a little pressure on the side spring and the battery will almost fly out!

Well goddamn. I tossed the jumper cap thinking it was just a plastic cover. Works now. Damn i feel like crying.

Also, believe it or not...my psu died. I started it up, then it just stopped before it could boot (I had the fans spinning and everything). It makes a click when I press the power and then nothing. Checked it out on the corsair and did what they call the "paper clip" test. It failed it, of course. I have to send it back in.

Also, I will add a link to my build below when I get my psu back and a monitor. I have it hooked up to my tv right now.

Maybe like my extra PSU you want to go out and invest in another today and keep building then swap the Corsair out when it comes back repaired or replaced. You likely can find a bargain and then use it as a back up for other builds or PSU issues? I bought my Corsair online and it's not modular but it's a solid back up for the money spent. The one I most recently bought and I'm very impressed is the Seasonic...link below and it's top flight.

Picked up a 850w at bestbuy for 120 believe it or not. I am going to use it as a supplementary psu until my other one comes back from newegg.com

Just had a look through thread and i think you misunderstood the speaker thing, he meant an internal speaker connecting to mobo header, this will signal beeps on mobo error, you mentioned connecting speaker with usb.

Internal speakers are great bits of kit when you get problems, im amazed you didnt get one with such well spec`d kit
