How do you check your email?

I am not sure...you use WLM right? Does it support exchange and IMAP yet?

I think that you must pay for that, I'm pretty sure that I read about il some time ago.

Im not finding anything on snet.net and IMAP. So I think Im out of look on that front. I dont think snet.net is really supported much anymore. I should switch over but it seems like it would be a lot of work since ive used it for years.

It might be a pain but Google and Gmail aren't going anywhere anytime soon...for making sure you keep your communication channel unhindered I would make the switch

So to summarize the differences betwen Outlook and Windows Live Mail

Outlook is really for businesses who need exchange, advanced contact control (using Active Directory mostly for that), and profile management

WLM doesn't have exchange but it has IMAP AND uses it by default (which is superb), contact manager is enough for the average person, and profile management is basic as always

Outlook for the buisness
WLM for the average person

outlook is very easy to setup now days. I'm running 2007 and use it for all my email accounts, just do some quick research and/or ask here. You'll have it running in no time

Im using Outlook 2007 to check my Gmail. I have a mailbot that checks for new mail every 10 minutes and tells me I have mail .. I have x new messages, then proceeds to open Outlooks inbox.... a slick operation when you see it for the first time.... the only downside is it wont bring me coffee and OJ in the morning...

It is one of those apps that look daunting at first but very elementary to use...untill you dive down into some of the advanced features. Outlook's auto-account setup has come very far...2003 was okay, 2007 is superb, and 2010 is even better than 2007 and it is a TP

Tews...Why don't you have your Gmail with IMAP enabled in Outlook?...that way it updates emails on the fly...
