^ Also Joan, since this is the winter time and static electricity is more prevalent, make sure you're completely discharged before handling any memory or internal computer components. Usually you can do this by simply touching a metal object, right before you begin. A grounding strap is the "proper" way of doing it, but that's usually a bit overkill for someone who doesn't work with sensitive hardware components all the time.
