Startup Repair Offline, No Root Cause Windows 7

After seeing the bios logo tap F8 muliple times. Now you see a menu with "safe mode", last known good configuration etc. Do you also see "repair your computer"? Select it (just as test). Does that work or freeze or black screen? Try a few times.

My definition of recovery mode is pressing the f8 button so I can choose safe mode etc. Sorry if my terms confuse matters here.

Asus recovery partition has been deleted during clean install from Windows7 DVD. I have made ASUS recovery disks but i have not used it, instead i did clean install as mentioned earlier in my post.

Windows 7 Recovery does not seem to fix the problem in th first place, hence I proceeded with clean install.

Could it be hardware problem?

Do you have a win7 install DVD? Created a system repair disk already?

Windows Repair Disc has been created. I have used this disc before hoping I didnt have to do clean install but it didnt solve the same problem.

Obviously, clean install still doesnt solve the problem. What shall we try next? I have created new Windows RepairDisc just now

and yes, I have Windows 7 install DVD.

It could be anything.... you'll have to test some things. F8 repair your computer works always? Just wanna know if it doesn't black screen or freeze or other strange things. It doesn't fix the problem I know

• Normal boot jumps to win7 recovery in about 50% of cases
• reboot works ALWAYS

Correct? A reboot is actually a shutdwon and a normal boot afterwards. So what could be the cause of all this. hmmm....

A normal boot powers on the laptop and disks, gpu etc... uses a lot of power. This doesn't happen on reboot.
Test this.

1. shutdown and power off
2. Wait 5 seconds. power on
3. Press F8 on boot so you see the advanced boot options.
4. Wait 1 minute
5. Select "start windows normally"

Repeat this sequence a few times until you have the problem. Or doesn't the problem appear at all now?
