Solved How to get windows 7 to recognise a ready boost drive at startup

After allocating a certain flash drive for ready boost, every time I restart or startup the system, I have to redefine that flash drive as ready boost for windows, is there a way that this can be done automatically?

When you first plugged in, did you get the Removable Disk Autoplay dialog box?

And then you chose: "Speed up my system (using Windows ReadyBoost)"?

Then the OS tested whether the drive was compatible with the ReadyBoost system?

Then, in the Removable Disk Properties box, you had a ReadyBoost tab where you chose "Dedicate this device"?

Did all of this happen?

Actually, if you have more than 1gig of ram (and you have 4), ReadyBoost does not help W7.

Just my thoughts. Your specs show you have 4 gigs of ram and a 32 bit system. I don't think windows 32 bit system will show Readyboost when you already have 4 gigs of ram.
Some one please correct me if this is not correct.

if I plug i a flash drive into a USB port then I right click and click on properties, I get a ready boost tab

Not sure about 32 bit, but I have 64 bit and 32GB of RAM and can use ReadyBoost. I've messed around with it, and it seems to work, but I don't use it because there isn't any real benefit for my computer.

I typically have about 17GB "in use" (10GB for a RAM drive), and 14GB "standby" used in SuperFetch. Going to get another 32GB next weekend for a larger RAM drive.

so by next weekend you'll have 64GB Ram ! Impressive but what machine can support so much ram in the first place?

Instead of a ram drive, I've read of a small software that loads all of windows in ram on startup ( for 64 GB ram and over)
