so when I am changing my displays from one to the other, like extending the display or setting it to display on only display number 1 or whatever, how can i get it to stop asking me if I am sure I want to keep the settings

Hello leftkidney,

This was designed to do that on purpose. This way if you were to not see anything on your display after applying, you would just need to wait the default 15 seconds before it automatically reverted back to your previous settings.

It could be a real screen saver.

I dont care if I mess up and its not showing anything, how hard is it to just plug into a different port, or switch to another display - I dont care if I set it to the wrong resolution or refresh rate - I dont care if I have to reinstall windows, I just want it to do what I say when I press OK

if I press Apply then it can ask me no problem, but if I press OK thats what I want

is there something in the registry I can change to stop it from asking me this question?

I can have the recycle bin just delete things and not even ask me to confirm so why not this?

when I say OK I mean it!

Try pressing the Windows Key and the P key. When I do it that way I don't have to click apply and keep settings, it just does it.

This thread made my day complete. So far I have learned that leftkidney
hates the extra tick when changing desktop theme.

Brink states he knows of no way to change that. (That answer is good enough for me)

Then I learned from alphanumeric that using two keys you can avoid using one extra tick.

Then I learned the even aliens can make keyboard mistakes.

Now this. I love it. I want one.

It just don't get much better than this. Life is great.

You'd rather reinstall windows than press a button every once in a while?

Also, the "OK" button is just an apply button that will close the current dialogue box once it's applied.

I run dual monitors most of the time. When I game I switch to just the main screen. I put two shortcuts on my taskbar. One for "Computer only" when I game, and one to switch back to "Extend" when I'm done.
