Hello I am considering buying a new pc

I would like it to be powerful so it can handle gaming

Something along the lines of i7 at least 8gb ram etc

Where is the best place and preferably cheapest place to buy one

I'm not looking to custom build as I have no time for that unfortunately

I was considering getting an alien ware x51

Are these goods computers would anyone recommend?

Please thoughts and advice would be appreciated

Regards Paul

Instead of wanting to get a computer for gaming that ''just works'' It would be better if you build your own so you know it will be able to do what you want it to do.

Just my two cents.
And I7 is not needed at all for gaming.
i5 will do, and save you hundreds.

What type of gaming?

Most sellers will get you a SUPER HAXOR GAYMEN COMPUTER. But they cannot guarantee it will run games how YOU want them to run. This is my number one concern with buying prebuilt ''gaming'' computers.
Not to mention they will pack the computer with leds and useless closed loop water cooling, and an overly fancy case that you do not need to play games.

I guess what I am trying to say is that they will make it look ''cool'' but the look has nothing to do with the actual computer performance.

It is your money of course, and you could go to NCIX and see if they would ship overseas. They sell computers that customers pick the parts for.

Doesn't take long at all to build a computer, a few hours at most.

Steps are:

Open case.
Put on motherboard raiser screws.
Place motherboard on top of that.
Place screws in motherboard.
Place in harddrives.
Place in PSU
Place in CPU and cooling (fan is simplest)
Place in PCI-e cards.
Place in RAM
Attach cables.
Close case.

Give us a budget and we can easily pick out parts for you.

I agree that building your own computer would be a best bet, but if you are opposed to a few hours of labor then I would stick to any major manufacturer. There are a lot of PC sellers, Dell is common, but don't take that as them being the "best". All computers are comprised of the same basic components. The manufacturer simply cuts out 2 main things, Choice, and labor. You don't get to choose what components are in the in the case and you don't have to connect a few wires and turn a couple screws.
I like NewEgg. They have a lot of kits with all the main components pre-selected, or you can piece it together and make a system that you will be really happy with. Custom = perfect for you.
Start by picking out the parts that matter most to you (Graphics and sound cards) then once you have your must have essentials in your cart, gauge your budget and add the rest of the parts that you can afford.

If you are willing to spend the money for an AlienWare PC then you can surely afford a custom build with top of the line specs. If you need help picking things out the community here can and will help with advice. Just remember that a lot of what is "better" can at times be matter of preference. Such as the preference of iOS over Android. A debate not likely to be settled.

Thanks for all your replys

I'm a little dis couraged to go for my pc which I have personally custom built in case I make any mistakes down the line

I wouldn't mind getting a custom built computer via a company

I'm looking to run games at a good pace without any lag or limitations

I'm not looking for super high super speed just enough power and fps that it does not effect the game

Obviously I'm looking for a computer which can hold multiple program's open at once but I'm assuming if it can handle games well then that shouldn't be a problem

My budget for the pc is no more than £600

Regards Paul

What I did one time was to look in stores and find a PC that I liked. Do a Google search for the same PC online and you can find it several hundred dollars cheaper. Order it online and you have saved some money.

The computers come with the standard computer parts, you decide if you want 6 MB of RAM or 8 or 12, how big the HDD, how powerful the pcu etc. Go to the web site and it's multiple choice.
