I'd go for 12GB. Always go for all you can afford. In a year or 3 you might need it as games get more complicated.

Or a waste since soon DDR3 is going to become obsolete. DDR4 is kicking in later this year or by early 2014.

You do not need more than 4GB for gaming really.

If there is one near you, then maybe a Microsoft Store (click here to visit the webpage).

If you want maybe specific support for your PC if you would like, then you should probably get it from the PC manufactorer. For example, if you are getting a Dell PC then you should probably buy it at Dell.com.

Try costco.com and look for ZtSystem pc, I believe the best bang for your buck.

You do not need more than 4GB for gaming really.

I learned the hard way, and later was advised, to always buy more computer than you'll ever think you need. That way it won't become obsolete as fast. My first computer back in 1997 became obsolete in 6 months because software required more and more resources (RAM, Space, technology) than my computer with 15MB of RAM could handle. That's why my new WIN7 64x DELL has 1.5TB HDD, 8GB RAM, a better than stock Pentium CPU and video card. At the present time I could do nicely with a 250GB HDD, and 4 GB RAM for a long time, but I don't want to kick myself in 4 years because I out grew my computer.

What you say is very true, but why not get what you might need initially instead of the extra work?
