What don't you like about Windows 7?

i do not know if its been talked about but i hate on the fact that they removed the flexibility of the file types tab in the folder options panel...
it drives me nuts sometimes....
i have tried alternatives but they are not the same (i.e you have to use 32 bit explorer which i will not use, it lowers in a way security and messes up icons)

edit: forgot that this also the same in vista...:(

yep with rafael setting up UxCore it wont be long...;)

I've been using the Technet release for two weeks and I don't have much to complain about. Overall, I think it's great. One thing that bugs me is the inability to remember passwords for websites. I'm not sure if it's strictly a Windows 7 thing, or a combination of Windows 7 and IE8. I've had IE8 for months on my Vista PC and it remembered PWs (I'm talking about login passwords like for this site.) Firefox still does it on W7. But I can't get it to work with IE8 and W7. Anyone else see this? Is it a "feature"?

Thing i hate about W7, is that it hardly works with large file types, such as VOB's.
I usually end up having to restart to correct the problem, and dont suggest re-installing...ive tried that and many other things....its a pain, coz i then use XP for my video editing.

One thing that bugs me is the inability to check things out before stating them as a fact.

Uh...look at my screenshots below before you post next...

It gets worse. I think oidicle is describing a problem found, and fixed, in much earlier builds.

The lack of custom visual styles, but they will come soon enough. Got to remember that it takes time to finish a VS, and most people doing it doesnt get payed to do it either.

My Bad, about the folder options issue, it's a feature I had gotten tired of looking for in the previous builds of windows 7 and I guess that's why I didn't bother looking in the 7600 build, I'll have to do that once I get back home....

The control panel's "Large Icons" thing: I guess I really should have been more specific and said "Larger" icons as in Extra Large Icons for instance, it was there in vista, the custom icon size for the control panel icons... Currently the option to display large icons is there in windows 7 like you've show on your screen shot and like I've already seen on my PC, but that's their definition of large, 'cause frankly, those icons aren't large at all, they're small if you ask me and if you choose the option for small icons, than they'll become 'tiny' by my standards.

Just right click on your desktop, choose large icons on the view menu and compare those 'large icons' with the ones in the control panel to see if they're the same in size... I think you'll really see that the ones on the desktop are larger, or should I just say "Large".

Well, aside from the folder option issue(which seems to have been fixed) then the thing I don't like about windows 7 is the removal of the ability for the users to customize the icon view on the control panel to match their preference... that's all

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but why when networking 2 W7 pc's do I have to write down the 1000 digit (ok I'm exagerating) code that is given to have to type that into the other PC, can't I save it to floppy or memory stick?? and have it automatically pick it up??

There seems to be a wave of misunderstandings going on in this thread, the thing I would try and do before replying with a snarky, snooty comment is try and find out if the person chose/selected the right options or something like that... It may happen that you don't have issues on your PC with a certain option but someone else has, one case in point is a post in the "Post your windows 7 desktops" thread, about UxStyle Core not working for some people with even the same build version of windows 7, myself being one of the people, do you guys see what I mean here?

There's no need for that....

I understand your point, I even agree with you. But it goes also the other way around. The post I replied with a "snarky, snooty comment" stated that Windows 7 is generally not able to do something. What and how he wrote that is simply not true. As a untrue statement the post doesn't belong to this thread where topic is what do you not like about Windows 7 in general.

My comment, a little bit sarcastic I admit, was because of this difference: the issue he said being the reason he doesn't like Windows 7 is not an inability of Windows 7 in general. The poster should IMHO instead start a new topic and tell he has this problem and search for a fix.

I'm trying not to be "snarky and snooty". This time a little bit sarcasm was, in my humble opinion, deserved.

Only thing i don't like about seven is: Windows Media Center. It looks like the one in vista which looks really boring. :( i just wish they would have made a whole new look.
dont like media center at all. I prefer iTunes (yah, yah, hate on me) I never used it until I got an iPod and now thats all I use
