New monitor

Hello my second 17 inch led monitor is dieing as it keeps blinking on and off and it's nothing to do with my graphics card or the dvi cable so I was wondering what monitor should I get to replace it?
I would like it to be from 21-25 inches (as it's going to be replaceing my two monitors that are old and out dated and slow)
I would prefer for it to be from ebuyer/scan/aria and around £200 max
Thanks for any surgestions -ztorm
Edit (I'd prefer for it to be hdmi/dvi)(I'd also like for it to be matte but that's not so important)

Hiyya silver mate you going larger with the new one because I reckon you will get a tsunami of advice very shortly. Personally I wouldn't go less than 22".

My preferences are BenQ Philips, HP, Samsung , Asus, Dell in that order I can't fault the BenQ Philip's or the Dell the others I have seen but not owned. Benq out here at the moment are really quite reasonably priced too. Philip's are well priced and Dell though good are in my mind a tad over priced for what I use it for.

I think it is ~ 239pound but often you get discounts by being a member of some auto societies etc.
I have the U2311HM fluro backlit and it is a fantastic value for money IPS monitor. Its color gamut is great and being an IPS it's good for photography with different viewing angles. Obviouslt I'd go for the LED backlit next.

Couldn't give me an LG mate the Dell is the choice I was just giving you a few options I didn't know if you were aiming high end - sorry.

I'm not nececerily aiming high end and your opinion is allways valid in my eyes since you know far more then I do so I'll pass on the lg I like the Dell one but it looks a little ugly but I guess ugly doesn't affect performance.

One of the other things I like about the Dell is the monitor control buttons - I have a Samsung touch sensitive controls and they are a pain.
But a big thing with the Dell is the ergonomics of easily adjusting its position (height, angle, even 180deg rotation if you need that thing).
I sound like a Dell monitor salesman - how about a freebie Dell.

PS- the Dell isn't ugly ---it's very practical.

Yeah I know what you mean my downstairs tv is a samsung and has them stupid touch buttons that only work 1/10th of the time

Yes mate I am with MJF and KB after all you are hardlylikely to be looking at the decore' using the Dell and it is quality stuff Ihave to admit.

Just where abouts are you just out of interest as I am overnext month visiting my brother who I built that machine for and I would like tobuy him a decent monitor while I am there and I have forgotten most of theelectrical stores now except I think Curries are still going?

He has Wang It Hi something or other and the Dell if theprice is ok I'll get him one.

Dell S2340L 23in IPS LED Monitor [S2340L] - $219.00 : PC Case Gear both are in your price range as far as I can tell the second one though is a 7ms whereas the first a 6ms response.

I'm a bit confused with what PC CaseGear are selling here versus what Dell themselves are selling.
Firstly an IPS screen is just not LED backlit. I thought Dell only sold direct - obviously could be wrong here.

The monitor linked at PC CaseGear isn't the Dell Ultrasharp series. Although Dell is putting out higher quality value monitors with ISP panels, etc........it isn't the Ultrasharp I linked to. Also, you can buy monitors from Dell, or other companies, such as Newegg, Tigerdirect, etc. For the same money, you can get this: Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM

That's my understanding but if you are buying from Australia and are an auto club member you can get a 15% discount. So ~Au$228 shipped on the U2312HM ultrasharp. That's a good buy!

Can't hardly beat an Ultrasharp! I was just showing that particular monitor on Newegg's website as I knew how to easily find it........the OP can shop around and possibly find a better deal, but that is probably the monitor I would go with for that kind of money.

Sorry OP said he wasn't aiming high and well I am not an expert if it looks good then well thats good enough for me.

As for PCCG maybe they have some sort of deal going on with Dell.
