Hi all,

I have 16gbs of ram in my desktop. It's dell, windows 7 pro x64, almost a year and a half old.
The ram is 1333, 4x4, i didn't add them they were like that from dell.
The problem appeared like a month ago. Something is using almost 14gbs of ram although i'm not running any huge program like photoshop or max!
I checked task manager and resource monitor, it shows that i have less than 2gbs available and that 14gbs are in use!

I have mcafee as an antivirus. I still have free memory n harddrive.
Please help!!
These are some pictures for the taskmanager:

Have you tried running a Memtest86 on this computer to check if the ram is faulty? You might even have it laying around if you have a modern linux distribution cd; they all come with memtest86+.

I noticed you have a 3 day uptime, can you try rebooting and seeing if your ram usage continues to follow this course?

Sounds like an application had a memory leak. My bet Firefox. Glad the reboot fixed it.
