Solved Numerous BSOD screens, have tried everything cant find problem!

My graphics card is currently 64 with nothing running. When I began the stress test it quickly went to 80 inching fast to 85 so I shut it down. is this bad?

Its odd because both repair shops i brought it to the past 2 weeks said they ran stress tests and they came back fine. I just dont understand what the problem is. I defaulted the BIOS and rolled back the display driver. Now I wait for another blue screen I guess....

Bad, for sure. It is a very high temperature for a GPU. It may be expected that the GPU will crash the computer.

A two years old computer/hardware is not supposed to perform as it used to two years earlier. Isn't it?

It is an indication of a failing graphics card. I also abandoned my older graphics card at one word of my partner .... due to that level of heat and some other minor (apparently) problems.

Any PCIe graphics card will work in your system, as all them are plug and play. Brand, model etc depends on your choice and budget

It also depends on your PSU. Graphics cards put probably more strain on a PSU than and other single component. That is when you need a quality PSU with plenty of amps for what you need. You don't have what size or make PSU you have now. I always recommend Corsair, Seasonic or Antec PSU's as they are top quality and will not usually take the rest of your system with it if it goes out, and they will put out what they claim to put out unlike the cheaper models. A PSU is the last place you want to save some money in building a computer. Every other component in your system depends on it and is connected to it.

I am really not good with this stuff, what graphic card would you recommend in the below $150 range that will work well with this psu?

I am having bad problems again this morning. So after my usual first boot of the day I get a BSOD. Retart the computer and my mouse and keyboard do not work. Restart again and I get no monitor showing just a no input running across the screen. Restart again and this time I get to the desktop. Go to my email and the computer freezes and I blue screen. Restart again and now I have the black screen with the white cursor on the upper left corner of the screen. Shit computer down for 10 minutes it then I get to where I have to choose safe mode or whatever but I can't choose anything because my mouse is frozen. Restart again and it brings me to the repair option or start windows regularly. I choose to start regularly. I am at my desktop now and afraid to attempt anything. Please help, there has to be a way for us to figure out what is causing this!!

Downloaad Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Disgnostic program. It will work better if you run the one for DOS as that runs from ram. When that finishes, run memtest for 8 full passes. It will take several hours to run, so it is best run overnight. When is the last time you cleaned the dust from your computer? You need to clean dust from the filters and fans to keep them working properly.

There is no BIOS update, I havent formatted my C drive ever. I just cleaned out all dust last week. I am going to run the Data Lifeguard Disgnostic program now.....

Yes I know, my last resort is formatting, I have been trying to avoid that unless absolutely necessary. I have my own business and the headache of having to redownload and install all my programs and settings is quite exhausting.

My computer BSOD again during the hard drive scan. I will have to restart the long test now... this was the last BSOD i got.

The clean reinstall is absolutely necessary, as absolutely necessary is to change the GPU and PSU is.

Other than those, no troubleshooting will work.

Post back only after following these suggestions. Sorry to say, but we have pointed those parts as failing long ago, and the continuous BSODs are highly supporting this diagnosis.

If you're running the HP preinstall then you should at least be aware that is the worst possible install of Win7 one can have, since HP lards in the worst load of bloatware in the industry ruining Win7's native performance.

That's why we've helped countless thousands get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which is not that hard, a valuable learning experience that will teach you much about your PC and Win7, and then if you'll save a backup image of your new setup you'll never have to reinstall again.

At the minimum I'd Clean Up Factory Bloatware to try to regain some of Win7's native performance and possibly address your issue.

Days earlier I'd given you Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 with little response indicating you'd worked through these basic steps to go over your hardware and Win7 with due diligence. If you'd reacted at all to the individual steps we would have had other tips to give you.

I have done everything you guys have suggested I do. I did all the troubleshooting steps for windows 7 and everything else you have said. I have formatted my computers many times in the past and know exactly how to do it and also how to remove all the bullcrap that HP put in, that was done 2 years ago when I first got this computer. I am very good with this stuff and usually dont have such a problem. I have fixed BSOD on mine and family and friends computers for years. This has me stumped though. Its not telling me exactly what the cause is and I keep getting different error messages. I havent come across anything like this in the past 12 years since I have been using computers. I have to decide now do I want to get a new graphics card or do the reformat first. I would hate to reformat and then it turns out to be a failing graphics card. Thank you for all your help but I see I am on my own now with this.
