Hello! I've had this problem for a week now.

Sometimes when I run my computer for a longer duration my mouse and keyboard freeze with the screen, I can still hear sounds etc. Then all of the sudden the computer unfreezes and I can continue for a few seconds and experience another freeze. This might continue for a while but after some time the computer freezes again and doesnt unfreeze, I tried unplugging my mouse and then putting it back to the usb port in my motherboard, but this time the mouse doesnt power back on (the light on the bottom doesnt come on).
I havent gotten any error messages from this, this might be because I power my computer off before anything pops up.
Also one wierd thing that happend while this freezing occured was the fact that my cursor didnt change while moving it over hypertext or selecting text. Also the text selector cursor was bugged and it changed colours while moving it accross different colors.

One thing I might suspect is the fact that my CMOS battery is failing, I had a some kind of a corruption error with it earlier and fixed it by reseating the battery. The Motherboard I'm using is an Asus P8Z68-V LX

This is really wierd since sometimes I might be on skype and this happens and I still hear my friend. Just cant talk to him thought.

I hope this problem can be resolved, because it is really annoying and kinda stressfull since I wouldnt want my computer to fail.

It sounds like a possible bad driver, or something became corrupt with either a video or sound driver. I would check and make sure that you have the most up-to-date drivers installed.

it may be something with the temperature of the pc. an overheated cpu or graphics card can sometimes shut down the power completely to prevent fire. try monitoring both the temp of cpu and graphics card, also make sure all cooling systems and fans are working normally. other possible cause is the ram, if the ram storage is getting low, significant slowdown will occur.

Searching around on the interwebz has resulted in a conclusion. I think the reason why my computer had these wierd freezes was the crappy driver nvidia gave us. I reverted back to the 314.22 drivers and they're working fine for now, I will keep you posted on how this goes.
