Computiac, do you remember exactly what you did with the partition program?

Found the disk I burned, it is Partition Wizard Mini tool.

The date on it is 3.24.13 which means I used this when I moved the OS from the HDD to the SSD on the old HP machine.

I did not use it on the clean install of the new machine at all. Sorry for the confusion on that.

There was a problem after doing the first clean install, I lost some functions and could not get them back for some reason.

Then I did a second clean install, because I did not have a repair disk at the time, and have been on it since. It did create a Windows Old file, which I deleted.

So maybe there is really nothing on the 96MB partition since it shows as empty ?

That would seem to be an upgrade, not a clean install

I just realized it, Dude is right. That seems to be more of a migration/image than a clean install of windows. I'd do a clean install. If you have a valid Windows 7 key, and you have your data backed up.......it will take about 12 minutes to reinstall windows. That is what I'd do.

No, at the start, it stated all info on the drive would be lost, so I'm assuming it was formatted.

You're probably going to have to go through the process with OCZ then.

Ok you may need a firmware update I am trying to do the same atm with a OCZ drive you will likely need get it from here download and update for my drive I can't fix it unless I put another hard drive in it's place to do the update which is a son of a you know what OCZ Toolbox: Firmware & BIOS Updates

No, I did not make any partition on the SSD, unless the Windows installation did it.

I do have the Key.
I have a Acronis backup, but how is it going to help ? Wouldn't I be putting the same thing back ?

How will this take only 12 minutes ? What about all the programs ?

COMPUTIAC, you did a restore from image. A clean install will fix it, but you will have to re install all your programs. I would do the clean install, re install your software, then do another image. I know it's a pain but it will solve your issues.

How did I do a restore from image ?

What image ?

I used a disk I burned from downloading a ISO from Digital River.

Please explain what I am missing here.

You back up your Users folder, favorites, songs, etc. You make a bootable USB with the windows 7 iso image on it. I think you have the latest drivers downloaded, put them on something easily accessible. Secure Erase the SSD, and boot from the USB stick with the clean Windows 7 image on it. That takes about 12 minutes to be on the desktop. If you have made any changes in the BIOS, set to factory defaults beforehand....and make SURE SATA ports are set to AHCI. After that, it is a matter of installing drivers and updates. You can get the Windows 7 64-bit SP1 image various places, and making a bootable USB stick is simple.....as long as you have a 4GB+ USB drive.

Once you used Acronis restore, it re-imaged your drive. I think from what you said that you used your acronis backup to restore.

Did not use Acronis to restore anything at all,
the images are on a external drive.

Yes, you can move the System boot files to C by Marking C Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times because it is the only wholistic method that tests and repairs all parameters including rewriting WinRE link to F8 menu.

Once the OS boots and C holds the System Active flags, you can delete System Reserved to leave or recover its space using Partition Wizard CD Resize Partition - Video Help.

I'm in between halfway understanding what is going on, and being thoroughly confused. You could do a clean install of Windows in the time it takes to try and repair it. Programs are not that difficult to find and install. I recommend Ninite for basic programs. HUGE time saver. Ninite
