Hi,

I have 7 x64 SP1

I can't prevent the PC from waking up with the mouse.

* It is disabled in the advanced power management options in the device properties.
* It is disabled in BIOS (http://imageshack.us/a/img59/9837/mmq9.jpg)
* I checked in a command prompt with powercfg -devicequery wake_armed and the only things listed are "HID Keyboard Device" and "NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet"

Any other suggestion?

Could it be that it is a keyboard+mouse combo connected to the computer through a single USB port using the same dongle? It's the Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say yes.

I'm assuming the reason you are using the dongle is because you do not have a spare USB port?

Try an experiment: Disconnect the keyboard and just plug in the mouse. Don't use the dongle. Then put the PC to Sleep and see if the mouse wakes it.

Hi,

Thanks for replying.
Oh well maybe I expressed myself wrong.

I have a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. They came together in the same box. There is only one USB "thingy" (lol). You connect this to the PC and it works for the mouse and the keyboard. There are not two of them, one for each.

I don't have a single spare mouse. I'll get one however and try and see what happens.

Hi RonAshman,

This issue is occurring because you use the same USB receiver for the keyboard as well. Kindly disable the option "Allow this device to wake computer up" under Keyboard in device manager.

And after that if system doesn't wake up from the keyboard or the mouse you have isolated the issue. Either you would need a wireless mouse with seperate receiver or a wired mouse.

Hope it helps.
