Webpage and download errors in IE10

I have serious problems using internet Explorer 10 on my computer. When I download files almost every file is corrupted, if it is RAR archive it contains CRC errors and can not be extracted. Small files are ok but larger than 10 MB is hopeless. Also, when browsing webpages a lot of pages contains errors. It starts good and then half of the page or some parts of the page is just rubbish text. A lot of pictures are corrupted or just parts downloaded. When I play videos in Youtube the player crashes very often. I also got the message "this page can not be downloaded" in commercials or sometimes whole web pages.

I have tried a lot of things:
- Setting language coding to automatic or UTF-8
- Disable addons like Flash, Java etc.
- Lower security levels
- Disable virus protection
- Disable ActiveX filtering
- Installed new drivers

I installed Chrome and Firefox and everything works fine but Internet Explorer is almost useless. Now, I don't want to use either Chrome or Firefox for some reasons so therefore I have to solve this issue.

I'm starting to suspect hardware or disc errors. I am using a Corsair F60 SSD 60 GB but it doesn't show any errors and Windows is working in general. It is just IE10 that is behaving strange.

What can I do?

Thank you for your reply! I have tried default setting without any sucess. Maybe I should try uninstall IE10 and use IE9?

It is strange because the file download errors only occurs when I save it in download folder on the SSD. If I save it to another drive it works ok. Also, when I clear history it works fine for a while and then it starts again. Could it be caching error or disc failure?

I tried following:

- Reset IE10: Still the same
- Uninstall IE10: No change, almost worse!
- Reinstalled IE10: Still errors on pages

It's just like it doesn't get all the downloaded data. Seems like it is missing some parts of the file or page when downloading. I have no idea what to do.. :(

Your welcome.

Did you have the SSD installed while using IE9 and you didn't have the problems you're having now?

You could try reverting back to IE9 follow Option Three.

You could try changing the default download location for IE10: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/112232-internet-explorer-change-default-download-location.html, but I suspect you might start having problems with downloads to your HDD.

It is strange because the file download errors only occurs when I save it in download folder on the SSD. If I save it to another drive it works ok. Also, when I clear history it works fine for a while and then it starts again.
How do you have IE10 set to handle browsing history when you close it? This also works for IE10: Internet Explorer 9 - Delete Browsing History select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
Could it be caching error or disc failure?
I'm not familiar with SSD's so I couldn't say. What you could try is to run the diagnostic for it.

Yes, SSD is still in use but it's even worse in IE9..

Tried that..

Changing to Another drive is better what I can see.

I delete all caching and browser history when closing. I does help reloading the page a couple of times.

I'm not familiar with SSD's so I couldn't say. What you could try is to run the diagnostic for it.

Thank you! But it did not show any signs of failure.

I'm giving up on this now.. I guess I have to use Google Chrome instead.

Don't feel too bad, I'm trying to get my IE10 to work properly.

I'm having display errors, and when I try to upload files to 7F it doesn't show all my folders in Library/My Pictures.

I'm going to see if I can get some help from our fellow geeks.

What kind of display errors do you have?

I think I might found a solution, at least to 90%. What I did was to change the directory of "temporary files" to another drive using an HDD instead of the SSD. Now almost everything works ok! I still got some minor errors on pages but not at all the same as before.

I don't know what the problem is but there seems to be a read/write error to the SSD making pages, pictures and downloaded files corrupted. But no other program is having that problem so it must be something with Internet Explorer and writing to SSD or something.. Anyway, it works quite well now.

The biggest problem I'm having is using IE10 while trying to post here on 7F.

When I'm trying to insert a link the link insert box opens okay, but when I paste a link into it the OK/Cancel buttons disappear.

When I want to upload a file only 7 of the 26 folders I have in "My Pictures" appear, none that I need to get to. And various cursor, highlighting problems too numerous to mention.

Sounds like a DirectX problem doesn't it? I'll check it again, the diagnostic checked okay the last time. :(

The pages look okay and I get around okay, it just seems to be with any editing.

FireFox 22. works okay

It's great to hear that you may be on to a solution for your rig, one member suggested your SSD might be too full, and that would have a bearing with temp files.

Here's a tutorial to help check your action on changing the location: Temporary Files Folder - Change Location in Windows

Could be graphical problem but I'm really not sure.. Can't be much help there mate.

It's great to hear that you may be on to a solution for your rig, one member suggested your SSD might be too full, and that would have a bearing with temp files.

Out of 60 GB I have 20 GB free so I don't think it will be too full. Internet caching size is set to 250 MB so there will be plenty of space left. I have run TRIM and checked the drive for SMART errors but there is nothing wrong. In health status it says 95% healthy so I don't know if that 5% unhealthy is causing any trouble. Maybe I have to do a "clean sweep" of the drive..

Here's a tutorial to help check your action on changing the location: Temporary Files Folder - Change Location in Windows

I meant "Temporary Internet Files" in Explorer but I might have to move "Temporary Windows Files" folder as well.

Thanks.
