Solved Realtek, Windows 7 64bit Crackle/static/popping

Hello i have a problem with sound, its cracking until i restart my pc its fine for 1-2 days but after crackling returns and i hear it more often as the days pass any help i attached also latecy mon and latency checker the first screenshot is after i restart my computer.

Lelos some system specs would be real helpful mate and from what you describe which I am assuming is that the longer the machine is on the longer it takes to perform tasks??

passed both tests without problems

Hello again machine works fine only problem i have is the cracked sound its not all the time like that, but some times.

Yes mate I understand that but what did the temps in Speccy come up with - it could be that a heat build up could be causing some disruption of contacts in some piece of the hardware when this crackling begins.

Plus mate the system specs we really need to know what you have on that machine to pin this problem down.

u can see my specs in speccy only thing it doesnt show is the PSU its Corsair gs 700w

Oops sorry lelos I missed the ref mate - heavy head cold at the moment.

I see you are running Windows defender and Eset mate now the Est if that is a full version you can switch off the Defender as you don't need it and I found that my Kaspersky doesn't like it running alongside and I was getting problems all the time until I found Defender was running. As a general rule never run two AV's together mate.

Temps are real good do that isn't the issue in those components I am thinking.

First I'd try the driver s especially the Azalia sound unless you have done it already if that doesn't come up with a fix then I would be tempted to first resat the RAM and GPU in fact all the cables etc then if this doesn't fix the problem then personally I would run a memtest Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
Make a bootable disk set the BIOS to boot from the optical and let this test run for at least 8 passes unless it comes up with errors (see pic to see what they look like) if they start up straight away then one or both of the sticks may be bad. If there are errors then try one stick then it is easy to try one at a time and in each slot until you find the error one. Now I'll forewarn you this test takes fair time to run so don't get impatient and stop it some even run it overnight. It could explain some of that latency stuff you are seeing. This is a good tutorial on it (I prefer the disk rather than the stick method but the choice is yours)
By the way looks a nice set up you have there and out of curiosity which is the boot SSD?

Sometimes, I would check out Realtek's settings on the Control Panel and I would try changing the "default format" to something lower. If its on "Studio Quality", I would change that either to "DVD Quality" or "CD Quality" and that should lessen or remove the cracking sound.

And maybe a mic is interfering with your speakers perhaps?

the problem started after i changed my graphic card to gtx 680 and i updated all my drivers

If all means do not play out well, your only option might be to roll out to your previous Realtek sound driver version. Go to the Device Manager by typing device manager on the Start Menu. Choose your Realtek sound device and roll it back to a previous driver version.

i did a rollback the audio drivers now i have to wait 2 days to see if the problem comes back

that means i wont notice the sound artifacts/crackling until 2-3 days pass

Well lelos that really smacks of something or some component breaking down with time.
Have you still got the old GPU as the problem as you say started with the new card going in and I am thinking it might be worth try it again or try the on board graphics if the problem doesn't recur the card is suspect eh?

By the by did you ever try the memtest??

i havent run memtest since i added 8gb extra ram, i dont have a usb flash to run memtest can i do it through windows?
well the card i think its working fine i bought it first and then after a week i updated all drivers and the problems started.

i dont have also my old card to try it

but one more thing also with a latency monitor report the usbport.sys cause these spikes as u can see in the screenshot in first thread

mate burn the memtest to a disk (CD) I find it easier to boot from

Funny, I had the exact same popping/crackling noise problem with my computer, but I found out it was my Wireless Network Adapter that was causing my problem.
