He he and you are still alive? would have never happened with my ex I would been lying in a pool of blood somewhere LOL!!;)
she better behave or I won't maintain it, after all I built it for her. ;) http://www.sevenforums.com/overclocking-case-mods/210313-frankenstein-build-5.html#post1761466
Very nice cleanup Gary.
Looks like a new rig! Good job.

J
Thanks Juan

I spent weeks prepping my case and a few days getting the rig built and running (and it's not done yet) and here you are cranking them out like cookies. Yes, I am jealous. Well done!
Juan has to, it's part of his income. I'm jealous too though getting paid for doing something you love to do.

Gary, you are absolutely right. We just need to keep "cranking them out like cookies".
Sometimes we would love to have a lot more of time to work on some of them, but most of the time either the customers get anxious or we have other rigs waiting. :( :geek:

...Hahhahaha! No need to be jealous, I'm the one who's always been jealous about the magic you work with cables!...

Thanks! You are too kind!

...BTW, do you think our cable management is up to par? Any advice would be more than welcome...

Seriously? Your cable management looks just fine. Any more time spent on it and it wouldn't be cost effective.

...And any ideas and advice you guys can contribute regarding the design of the water loops would be great...

I live in a desert so my experience with water is limited.

You're the one who's too kind Lady Fitz!

Btw, living in the desert sounds as a great excuse to experiment with water cooling, doesn't it?

I will be traveling to Phoenix on business next month, will be staying at the W on Camelback Rd. in Scottsdale.
Any advice on sightseeing or cool stuff I can do while there? I'll be spending almost a fortnight there, so your input would be very much appreciated!

Cheers,

J

Here are some of one we did for yet another musician early last week, but this one doesn't like playing with water or fancy cables.
I think it looks great. One of those cases when less is more.

Hope you like it,

J

Lessee... There is the Phoenix Zoo in nearby Papago Park and World Wildlife Zoo out west of Phoenix (this one is even better than the Phoenix Zoo). If you like shopping and/or night life, Old Town Scottsdale and Downtown Tempe are nearby. The whole area is lousy with museums; the hotel should have a rack with brochures on them and other places to go. The town of Cave Creek north of Scottsdale is a nice Western tourist trap. Sedona is about two hours north of Phoenix if you like hitting the touristy places. There are excellent scenic drives in the area especially Oak Creek Canyon. I like to drive up to Flagstaff (about three hours away; another place with cool places to visit including the observatory that discovered the former planet, Pluto) for lunch, then drive back through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona for supper, then back to the valley.

We are starting to get access to a larger selection of parts, so just chip in and we'll see if we can make it happen.

Thanks a lot,

ell Juan I reckon those white tubes would look awesome with a grey braided or a dark carbon fibre like finish the same with those orange cables mate that would look just jaw dropping.

Thanks a bunch, really.

John, you are absolutely right about the white tubes looking kind of "bare".
We just ordered some black and dark grey Primochill springs to put around the white tubing.
Will post some pics when we put something together with them.

Not sure about what you mean about the orange cables. You mean using gray instead to match the springs on the tubing?
That would actually look amazing!
Will try to find some dark gray braided cables to give it a try.
Great tip. Thanks a lot!

Yes mate the bunches of smal ones that come from the rear.

Now I am very pedantic when it comes to colour inside I am a blue / black soul and I even went to the trouble of making some cloth tape by spraying some dark material with semi matt black paint to wrap around the 24 pin connector, the front panel and PCi cables so that in my Ivy there is only black and blue apart from two red SATAs I kept for ID'ing the front dock drives. Tiny specs can be touched with some matt black or whatever colour nail varnish.
Overkill I guess you could call it but I just like it that way;)

Mind you yours are something else:D

Juan, those are fantastic work. Very well done. Your cable management is excellent. I know of no way to improve it. I wish I could do as well as you. I notice you always use the Switch 810. Very wise to use the same case. You can get tube and cable management down to a fine science. Always using basically the same components will enable you to build a lot of rigs faster. Very smart.

Don't worry, you can never post too many pictures in this thread. BTW, what 360 rads are you using? There's no way I could put fans underneath mine. You have done that and had space to spare. Very well done.

Hi Steve, how are you?

Thank you very much for your comments.

You are completely right about the cases. For the time being we are sticking to 3 NZXT models: Switch 810, Phantom 820 (we've only done 4 because they are way too expensive down here, but the frame is exactly the same than the Switch, so it is kind of easy to work with them) and the Phantom 410. Next week we'll start work on a couple of Phantom 630s. I'll let you know how we find them.
We will also be receiving some Vampires and Agustas by Raidmax, which seem to be a nice and cheaper alternative to NZXT's big boys. We'll see.

Regarding the 360 rads, the one on the white case with the red dragon on the side (the one painted white) is a Magicool 360 Ultra, which thickness wise is something in between XSPC's EX and RX series.
On the gray Switch case (the one with red cabling and coolant) it is a Magicool 360 Slim, which actually rests on top of the frame, just below the removable "vane" top, so it is hidden from view.
So far we've been using XSPC's RS, EX and RX series without any issues and Magicool's Slim and Ultra series with same results.
Next week we will have to fit a couple of Phobya G-Changer 420s in two different builds using Switchs. I believe this is going to prove challenging. Will report back with some pics.

Once again, thanks a lot Steve; for everything...

Cheers,

J

Paul! How are you mate?
Long time no see. How's everything going?
Thank you very much for you comments, you are too kind.

Alan, how are you? It's been a while.
We'll send you a job application form when we open a branch up there.

John, will send you one to you too when when we expand to Ozland.

Steve, in this solemn act we appoint you Honorary Gaming Chairman of the Board!

It might sound as an adolescent comment (like proposing that we rent a house by the sea and that we all move in together) but I really wish we lived any closer and that we could set up shop together. We'd be outselling Newegg in no time!

Till you all move to Argentina, we all move Down Under, we all join Paul in the UK or you yanks help us three get green cards, all I can do is share pics here. :(
Or maybe make you all honorary members of the board! You'd be, of course, reporting to Steve. Hhahahha!

No, seriously, I'm so happy with the way things turned out! Six months ago I had never owned a desktop computer, not to mention a high end gaming rig. Now, with your help, advice and encouragement I own a performance shop. A very small one at that, but who knows what the future might bring, right?

Later today I'll upload some pics.

Cheers guys!

J

Hi Juan,

Things are all good here mate :)
Yes it's been a while, I don't think I have done any upgrades since we spoke last. I have been very good and stopped spending money stuff I don't really need lol.

Love the new rigs you posted.

Only mod I have done recently (today) is to apply the TUF sticker that came with my Sabertooth. :geek:

Paul.

Edit: Just changed the sticker positioning slightly as I was not happy with it. It is now pic 2 on the right.

Juan of all the rigs I think I like the air cooled one the most. It's clean and simple.
On the Red dragon, how is that applied? I see no joint between the window and metal panel.

Hey Paul!

I'm not sure you had the Sabertooth last time I checked in.
Either way, it is a great board. Smartest design features we've encountered so far. Not that we've used a huge selection of boards -so far we've mainly installed ROG and G1 Killer series boards- but the Sabertooth Z77 is my favorite design so far.

I like your Sabertooth sig a lot, and the new TUF one Boobbah just made for you, too.

BTW, your rig is looking very cool!

Thanks a lot for your comments friend. I'm really having a great time. I hope it shows in the rigs we build.

Gary,

I know exactly what you mean regarding the simple, clean and understated looks of the air cooled rig. I like it too.
I think the Sabertooth Z77 greatly contributes to it's simplicity and functionality. It is a great "hybrid" rig too. The guy who owns it mainly uses it for music production, hence the silent fans, the "pro" board and the 32GB of RAM, but he's also kind of a BF3 buff, hence the GTX680. One of my favorite rigs so far.

Now that we are talking boards and cards, has anyone tried the new ROG or G1 Killer 1150 boards out? If so, with which processors?
How about the new GTX780? Anyone?

Cheers,

J

Maybe I didn't have the Sabertooth, It's been in for a couple of months at least, I also relocated the Antec 920 from the rear of the case to the front to clean the look up as it was quite a bulky thing with 2 fans fitted and covered a lot of the board.

Yes I agree the Sabertooth is a fantastic board, it overclocks well and looks fantastic.

Paul.
