I have the strangest problem with Windows Explorer. It started months ago but was very intermittent. Now it happens after almost every few times I use it. When I start up, everything runs normally. Then it loses its drives and just displays libraries and favourites. Then it refuses to display any image thumbnails of JPGs etc. Finally it sort of gives up completely, when you click on a folder the green search bar starts to slowly come across and it often doesn't end up finding any files or it just seems to hang (though sometimes it finds them after quite a while).
I have tried disabling loads of startup programs and services, I have even turned off programs like avast, dropbox, livedrive but no difference. I used shellview.exe but that yielded no gains. Even running in safe mode it does the same thing.
Has anyone got any ideas?
