so how much ram can windows 7 ult. 32-bit support? i heard it was 4gb? and just for the heck of it, does anyone have a 64bit beta key they don't want

Most 32 bit mobo's will see 4 gigs but effectively use only about 3.3 like mine (a dell)

Yep, I was about to say that but you beat me. Its like that with all 32-bit systems I believe.

To the Original Poster, why do you want the Beta-Key? Do you mean the RC-Key?

You can still get beta (Release Candidate) keys directly from Microsoft here:

I've tested Windows 7 x86 in a bunch of motherboards and notebooks and I always got 3,25 GB. or 3,5 GB. of usable RAM.
Anyway, 64 bit edition of Windows 7 have few little incompatibility issues compared to the 32 bit edition that can be a problem for just a few amount of users out there. So, if you're not some of that few users, I highly recommend you to install Windows 7 x64 instead of x86 edition.

yes an RC-key for 64bit is what i am interested in if anyone has one floating around

You could easily get a key from MS since they still are providing them, just not the downloads for RC.

Though I shall PM you the key to save you the trouble.

i have a key but well i guess theres no way to get download, im sure some1 i know has a disc.

yes hes right the key is universal for 64 bit and 32bit, but this only works for beta/rc. if you need download i can give you a direct link to it...

It works for the RTM as well. It works the same as it does for Vista.
