I would call my change to Intel as big a jump as when I then went to a SSD.

From what to Intel?

If I am not mistaken, he was going from an AMD 8350 to a 3770K. Day to day tasks won't be the difference between night and day. When you get into specific programs that may take advantage of multiple cores, the Intel will perform better simply because the AMD doesn't have 8 true cores, and Hyperthreading is more substantial than splitting 4 cores into 8 like AMD does. Also, the Intel cores are more powerful and THAT will be noticeable when taxing all of them. If he was going from a dual or quad core AMD to this, yeah, it would be a hell of a difference. He had a solid system before the switch.
Well, let's see, the other CPU is AMD. I had/have two, a PhenomII X4 965 Black and a PhenomII X6 1055T, I still have both of them, wife uses the X4 965 system, the X6 is a backup machine.
The entire Intel experience compared to AMD is different. The Intel systems reboot faster, programs open faster, graphics render faster. This was with a spinner drive and a i5-2550K. To me after being on AMD systems for years it was a big kick in the ass by simply changing to Intel CPU and board.

It may be an exaggeration to say it was as big a difference as going to a SSD, but there definitely was a big noticeable faster change. My Intel and the wife's AMD system both have SSDs now and hers is still noticeably slower in general.

Just to let you all in on a secret it is noticeably faster :geek: Compared to my 8 core machine the boot is about 2 ms ahead of the AMD machines I have not really put a stop watch to them but it does look like it has a little get up more then my AMD Rig had

My SSD is funny it scored a 7.9 when first installed now degraded to 7.6 and the only way to update is to take it out and put it in another machines and update it why did OCZ make a bone head move to where you have to work so hard just to get the SSD updated plain out silly

Finally done :D It took me a bit longer then i thought as i had t clean everything first aswell as running into a couple of problems. The Lamptron FC2 fan controller i planned on using would just not go in. Its about 3mm too wide
It was a really nie case to build in and it may only be a small thing but my fav part was something i'd never seen before. The center most mobo standoff had a little nipple on it instead on the usual screw. So it made installing the mobo a load easier than it was in my 500R.
I planned to try and mount the hdd in the back so the ssd's could sit on the floor of the front but i just couldn't be arsed lol.
I've still got to swap out the stock fans for some AF140's and the Cougar's to SP120's aswell as get a couple of Bitfenix cable extension's but that won't be for a while.
I'm happy with the result's :D

Edit: @Tommy, Ocz have a bootable tool for updating the Agility3/4

@Ryan that case has to weight more then you do lol :D

Yeah I used the bootable tool right now but no change :(

When it arrived the box weighed a tonne lol It is a tad heavier but due to the shape it easier to pickup and move around.
Unlucky about your ssd chap,
My Agility4 needs an update but i need to get around to running a backup first.

Cheers chap!
It was the placing of the Hdd led, power led and hdd activity light connection's that was limiting me before not the case chap. I just dissconnected them which solved it :p It was an easier build in this case though and really nice not to have to squeeze the side panel on to get the cable's in :D

Edit: Cheers Alan, yeah while hunting build log's i found some REALLY nice water cooled build's and as much as i'd like to do one it's just too expensive for me. Plus the upkeep of the loop is a pain and would probably get neglected :o

Arh ok mate, I knew there was some kind of issue before with the GPU's but I forgot exactly what it was.

Any way the new case looks awesome mate and you did a real great job with the cables (out front lol) I bet you keep looking over at the case while you are sat there.

Cheers chap

When i installed the mobo in my carbide which ha the normal standoff's i struggled to hold the board inplace aswell as try to get the first screw in. In this one i just popped the board onto the nipple and had 2 free hands to do whatever. LOADS less hassle.

Very well done, Ryan. That looks like a great build. Congrats. You did fine work, I know you are proud of it, as long as you don't have to carry it around too much. Doesn't look like a Lan Party case. LOL. Fine job, and yes, that nipple works real well. Once you get everything lined up and drop it down, it won't move. Sure is easier isn't it.
