Win7 video randomly slows to a crawl

Window media player, Slingplayer, Realplayer all randomly have issues where the audio just stops and the video display slows way down to slow motion. So far the only way I can get things back to normal is to reboot the system. This issue just started several weeks ago. The first time this happened was when I was running Slingplayer and started Google Earth (IE10). I noticed that it took forever for IE to display the complete image and at the same time the audio (Slingplayer) stopped. Tonight it happened 3 times in a row. There are no errors reported, nothing in the event logs.

Scan your PC for viruses, malwares. Use Spybot-search and destroy to complete the scanning.

Is this only happening while watching videos or while any other program? After completing all the scans, download latest video drivers for your graphic card and remove the old drivers.

Use driver sweeper to remove old bits of old driver and then install the latest drivers for the card.

Keep us posted.

I have done all of the above already, that's why I posted here looking for more help/info. I believe the problem has something to do with the latest MS updates as of three weeks ago.

Because you said in your first post that you were using IE10. That's why Chrome was suggested as an alternative.

You're correct (sorry about the reply). However, that's not the only app where I experience the problem. I also have a problem when I launch Windows Media Player while running Sling Player. I also have the same problem when I launch Google Earth while running Sling Player. No IE10 running at the time.
