Damn Dave, that may stand for awhile, until Brian (AddRAM) gets a Sabertooth board.

Just for fun will it run WEI at 5600? At some point the CPU should get a 7.9.

You know I didn't try it at 5600Mhz:huh:
I did try it at 5400Mhz a long while back(2011) but still no 7.9. (i'll see if I can find the post/pic)

I dont think it will ever let me get 7.9WEI in win7, I might try it at 5600Mhz as it did not crash while I had @5.6 (idled it for about 20min) but it will get real hot so might have to wait for cooler days!

I can't lie with these guys having your back you could OC a toaster into greatness so that would be a yes

Doug, I couldn't recommend a MSI board or GPU, I've had both and neither worked. I couldn't even get am image with the GPU. I looked for MSI support and it said their forum had many knowledgeable people, apparently they don't.

Brian I've found the Sabertooth to be a fine board and many on the leaderboard have one. Some of the reviewers on Newegg are trying and doing things that just ain't right. I think there is one bozo who complained his 2400 RAM only runs at 1600. Of course he never set it to the frequency either.

Thanks Gary. I noticed that is the prominent opinion here. I was curious if anyone ever tried a high end MSI board. I currently have a low end MSI but have had good luck with it. So since I'm familiar with the BIOS setting and such I am considering it as an option. And you are spot on about the newegg reviews, I tend to check toms hardware and guru for a better reviews. Reading the review from guru I posted earlier the MPOWER looks to be a good board. Since I have not been burned by MSI as people here have I guess I'm hoping my luck will continue with them. As far as the msi forums, I go through there and they have a couple of users there that know their stuff, but no where near what we have here.

I've owned several brands of boards and my opinion is if you are looking at overclocking, Asus is the way to go. Either the Sabertooth or Maximus. Yes, you may have a learning curve, but once you understand it, you will find that all those extra options can give you more areas to tweak. I can't vouch for the woodpecker lips though.

Doug even if you got a newer, higher end MSI board the BIOS is going to be different. With all the exposure I had recently to ASUS boards, their BIOSes were different, similar, but different. The higher end you go, the more granular adjustments there are.
I think the Sabertooth has a good balance of features and is fairly easy to understand, even for an old, clumsy, forgetful guy like me.
