Not sure how to make a Recovery Disk

Hello...I'm hoping that I'm in the right forum for 1...and please bare with me as I've never done this before and I'm extremely nervous I'm gonna mess it even more lol. But I'm trying to follow the directions in "How to Clean Reinstall a Factory OEM Windows 7" and when I got to the part (actually I'm just reading it all first) about making a Recovery Disk I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to. My laptop is in need of this Clean Install in the first place because I have no IE and I'm missing some important files like Program Files x86 there just gone poof gone...some of the other one that are missing I might not even be aware of and some are corrupted because when I try to get into them I get a nasty noise with a window and a error message saying something about windows hating me lol. So what happens if I can't make a Recovery Disk...then what? I originally was just going to do a clean install back to factory settings right out of the box but then I'm missing all the programs that actually came with my laptop. So ThrashZone saw my post in another Microsoft Windows forum and said he thought this would be better...I'm just really confused now. Especially with the Recovery Disk. I'm open to any help or suggestions anyone may have but to be honest I only speak plain english

Make your Recovery Disks so you have a path back to factory condition, following the steps given in your PC's setup literature or in the Manual located on the Support Downloads webpage for your model computer. As an alternative to Recovery Disks you can save a Windows 7 Backup Image or Macrium Image of the entire HD.

● If you have a Recovery or OEM tools partition, these may not run after clean reinstall so be sure to make your Recovery Disks.

● You can wait until afterwards to see if Recovery or (Diagnostics) Tools partitions will run from boot to decide if you want to delete those partitions and recover the space into C or elsewhere (using Step 3 here).

Your specs only say Toshiba Laptop, can you give us the model number as well.

To make Toshiba Recovery disks go to Start>All Programs>Recovery Disk Creator. When you click Create it will prompt to insert a new DVD, normally requiring a total of two. Some Toshibas have the Disk Creator listed under Toshiba.

If it won't generate the Disks can run Factory Recovery from it's partition to restore to factory condition by rebooting and holding the 0 at boot until Toshiba Recovery starts. Make sure everything is backed up if you do this.

However this method reinstalls all of the Toshiba bloatware and duplicate utilities which interfere with better versions built into Win7, so it's better to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If you don't feel like you want to try the clean reinstall without having Recovery disks and your Win7 is damaged so saving a Win7 backup image as also suggested is not an option, then you can run Recovery for the purpose of repairing the Disk Creator to generate the disks, or order the Disks from Toshiba SUpport which is expensive.

Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. Sorry I didn't get back to you last night but I was just getting the last of my personal stuff off of my laptop to put into these folders I made on this desktop and I was exhausted. Once I take my meds I'm out like a zombie and nothing can wake me.

Can you tell me where to find my model # and any other info you'll need about the laptop while I have it turned over and looking at all my stickers please...and I apologize again for being a little stupid here

Press Start, type msinfo32 and hit Enter. There you will get all the info about your system.

Hi Greg...Yes I did read it. I was busy getting all my laptops info into here for everyone to see and I'm guessing use for something or other. I'm very nervous I'll forewarn you. I'm already shaking. So I'm hoping at least that you'll be here when I'm doing this in case I have a freak out moment

Hopefully I posted those pics right. And you are able to see the model #. I'll wait for you to look at all my Specs and hopefully you'll be able to tell me where to start because I'm ready to go.

I asked for Model Number, not Product Key. It's hard to mistake one for the other since they are clearly labeled. The Model Number will be on a Toshiba sticker, not the Win7 COA sticker.

You don't need a webcam for Skype, only voice or text.

What you gave is not a valid model number. The L455 should be followed by an extension like -S5975. Either input the full Model Number or the Serial Number here to get your drivers: Official Toshiba Support | Toshiba

As it says in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 back up your network driver so if it isn't provided during install you can install it first to get online, enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) then Check for Updates to install all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates, including reboots. After reboot go right back to Check for Updates again until there are no more.

After all Updates are installed, any drivers missing in Device Manager can be also imported from the
