This is not a lie, it is the truth, believe me, you can trust what I am about to tell you. Back in 1975 I was stationed in Hawaii, had a neighbor who was sport fishermen (had a nice boat). Well one day we went out past Barbers Point off the west side of Oahu about 15 miles out; now for the true fish story: It was my luck to be sitting in the chair when a 265 pound Yellow Finn Tuna hit, and one-hour-sixteen minutes larger I brought that tuna to the boat, and until 1997 that was the largest Yellow Finn caught off the coast of Hawaii. Now I know you all are saying where is the picture of this big ass fish. Well it is sitting in front of me, albeit no way of putting on the screen. So later today (it is 1:34 AM) I will go over to my oldest sons house and make a copy just for you none believers, then place on this thread.

Just down the hill from my place in Makakilo.

A buddy and his South African wife stayed at a Beach Cottage there - he was civilian with AWACS.

Swims, Sundowners, and Steaks on the barbie, with my portable Weber at Nimitz Beach --- Small world, huh ?

I worked Pearl Harbor with the SSNs, 688 class, and back-fitting USS Tunny, SSN-682 (637 class?) with MK-117 Fire Control...
Loved the Prime rib and King crab, all-you-can-eat, at the O-club.

Fishing...

Today nothing much happening, got to work later... but, the 17th, 18th and 19th I will be going deep sea fishing on my son-in-laws 45 foot Tiara out of St. Augustine, FL., about three hours out to a depth of 1300 feet for some serious Wahoo and Tuna fishing...

Can't wait...

LOL--I made CW3 and was on the 4 list when I retired out of Hawaii several years back at 20 years. I had a problem with the 0s also--especially the 05s for some reason.

I did go to several dining things at Hickam O club though and those were pretty decent.

nah--sorry. I meant --a good weekend so far. heck today and tomorrow, labor day is the weekend too. Actually today I'm at work seeing about an unsatisfactory report. Occasionally one of the 600 employees act up or fail to perform adequately. There goes the good weekend

Antman, two XO positions (LST, Destroyer), and two CO's (Destroyer, AOR (Refueler and Refrig.)).
Stationed: Pearl Harbor (XO Destroyer), lived in Ewa Beach, statue to the "Sloop John" in Ewa Beach, they helped with that big fish—great eating.

Yeah mostly the Army 06 (LTC) were all good; they kept those pesky Majors in check.
