Why does my Acer Laptop screen goes blank and comes back on?

Hey guys,i have a acer aspire 4738G laptop and i've been experiencing some issues with this lappy lately..

When i turn it on,once the fan start spinning much more faster,the screen goes blank for like 3sec and comes back..something like the win 7 aero problem or something..

When the laptop is turned on,i open google chrome,while im using suddenly it stops,the screen goes blank for 3sec and comes back on.

Also,i think my GPU FAN is not working,because in speed fan,it says GPU FAN:0 RPM..

It could be overheating. Try installing the latest driver available. Google to find out if your laptop's GPU is cooled by a dedicated fan.
