I haz no skilz so I come to you 7 gurus seeking guidance with hat-in-hand.

From an elevated command prompt:

"%programfiles%\AVAST Software\Avast\ashUpd.exe" vps /autoreboot

"%programfiles%\AVAST Software\Avast\ashUpd.exe" program /autoreboot

I don't use avast - so I don't have the settings memorized:
Can you tell avast to
wake the computer,
update the sig file,
update the program,
and scan the computer...
...all without logging in to a profile?

Convenience I suppose... a quick double click of the saved cmd on the desktop is simply more convenient than opening UI>> settings>> update>> update. The scheduled task is just in case I forget to manually update (I don't let ANY program Auto-Update). I had forgotten you could right-click the Icon & update until you mentioned it in your reply but alas, my Avast! tray Icon is completely unresponsive to left, right & middle clicks!

I'm off to Avast's forum to seek a solution...

Interesting. okay.

As for the icon not working, try a restart and if it still does not work, you might want to run a repair install of avast. Just go to add and remove programs, choose avast and click repair.

But he is logged into his profile anyway in order to run the cmd/bat/command.
