Solved Pin Batch File Shortcut to Taskbar

Due to PEBKAC I accidentally updated a program I shouldn't have.
After fixing that issue I noticed that my Taskbar shortcut (for my custom batch file) had vanished.
I've tried adding a shortcut in:
"C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar"
After restarting it doesn't appear on the Taskbar.
I don't want to have to re-image my SSD to recover from this (due to the way they self-destruct at the slightest provocation).
I thought that there was a tutorial about pinning batch file shortcuts to the Taskbar in W7, but I can't seem to find it.
Does anyone know the link?

Quick Launch is Active
Hi dave99, thanks for your reply.
The Quick Launch area is active.
I tried creating the shortcut multiple times, but every time (after restarting) the shortcut would vanish.
I just tried again and this time it worked!
I'm sure I used the same procedure each time.
What I did was:
Opened "C:\Users\***\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar"
Created the shortcut there
Dragged the new shortcut to the Taskbar and pinned it
