Steve, why did you only insure it for $50, if you insured it for the $325 you would`ve gotten all your money back. At least the USPS would get involved to help you out. I can`t believe Newegg is saying they never got it, that is unbelievable. Maybe if you keep calling someone else will get on the phone who cares more about it`s customers. Usually the return or rma program just takes care of itself with a few emails letting you know of the progress ( by newegg ) at least with me in 3 returns to them. What prompted you to look into it further ? How much time had gone by before you didn`t see that your cpu wasn`t going to be refunded or replaced ?

Steve, file a complaint with the BBB, attaching copies of all correspondence with Newegg and the USPS. The odds are you will not get results from the BBB complaint (although I have had good luck with them) but you will need the BBB report when you file a complaint with the State Attorney General Offices in FL and CA. FL will probably defer to CA but you want to have the complaint on file should CA decline to look into the case. Been there, done that only it was AZ and MN.

There is a paper trail (electronic) from when it arrived at the Post Office at 10:57 am on Nov. 8th
Find out who accepted it at the Post Office, who sorted it, and most of all who's hands it were in on its way to Newegg.
It is crucial to find out what truck it was on when it got there at 3:08 pm and who they handed it too or exactly where they left it.

This electronic paper trail does exist !

It is the responsibility of the last Postal worker to make sure it is delivered properly.
As you say, everything is tracked by bar-code system and it leaves a record every step of the way. Whenever I receive a package from the Post Office at my door, I can not touch it until it is scanned into the system, then the Postal worker hands it to me.

You need be calling the Postmaster General in Wittier, CA 90605 Or even your local one.
I would without a doubt, don't let this go or just write it off, you did everything right and someone else needs to find a solution to this.
I would also call Newegg from where you bought it from to get advice, or maybe they can call Newegg in CA. to get some answers for you. Also I would call Newegg in CA. myself if need be again.

I have also caught Newegg today using the same customer reviews for different items, that's plain lying and cheating in my book. Two items I checked was WD Velociraptors and Samsung SSDs, they had the same pages of reviews for all sizes of both drives.

Let them know you have posted on a major forum with over a quarter million members to read.

I use New Egg and Amazon but can easily go for Amazon since they are "right next door" and I am a prime member so get bloody fast shipping in any case. Amazon have agreed with Indiana State to start charging state sales tax in 2014 as far as I know.
Steve, looks to me like the CPU was stolen by an employee as the USPS shows it delivered. If it is missing it is their problem not yours. You need to take it further and actually accuse them of having received the part (you have proof) and one of their employees has stolen it. Seven Forums members can boycott New Egg.......

Sorry to hear about your troubles Steve.......it sounds like the person you talked to at Newegg needs to be fired! I have dealt with Newegg for several years, RMA'ing an Asus Sabertooth, and TWO Intel 520 SSD's and the guy I dealt with didn't even as much as question me. I'm sure there are some decent folks there, but more and more customers are having issues with them as a company. I will be very careful when ordering from Newegg in the future, and certain things I will only get from Amazon. Good luck and if you need to vent/rant or just need any advice, shoot me a PM.

Thanks everyone. I used newegg almost exclusively for several years until they decided any bent CPU pins were customer damage. Since that time I have used them but only for certain things. I am an Amazon Prime member and have gotten more than my money's worth from the Prime membership. I have always received excellent customer service from them until the motherboard RMA. I was lucky there because I checked the pins before installing a CPU and called them within 30 minutes of receiving it. But, it was still a battle, even then. Ihave emailed and phoned their customer service and talked to several and escalated it as far as they would allow me to. Everyone I talked to was exactly the same. I have the CEO's Name and address and will be writing in the next day or so. I have no intent of threatning them and don't think I could. Newegg is so big I doubt if no one on SF ever bought from them again, they would even notice. What I found so absured is not one person I talked to would admit that a company that gets tens of thousands of parcels a day could possibly misplace one. To me, that is rediculous. Thank everyone for their support, I sincerely appreciate it. I do have evidence that Newegg received the package, all they have is 'we can't find it'. If the CEO is reasonable, that should suffice. I think Newegg makes enough money without cheating customers out of theirs. To me, that's what this is.

If you paid by credit card, take it up with them. File a payment dispute on the total, including taxes and shipping. They'll take the money from Newegg's account and credit yours for the entire purchase price. Include copies of the receipt, RMA and tracking with the written dispute. It's a no brainer for the CC company.

I just had an RMA through Amazon for a Fiio E6 headphone amp. It was DOA. Even though it was sold by another vendor, it was fulfilled by Amazon and they handled the return. I'm running 0-3 on items purchased on Amazon from other vendors. I won't buy anything from now on unless it's sold by Amazon, not just fulfilled, even at a few more bucks. Amazon showed there's as out of stock but listed other vendors for the same item. Newegg has recently started doing the same thing by adding other vendor products. Some of the vendors take advantage of the big name and dump seconds or counterfeits.
