Blue Screens into a POST-failing state

I made my initial post in the General Discussion subforum, and I started it in hope that I would have more option the next day, and assess the situation from there. Brink did move it to this subforum, but I don't think he realised that I was just asking for pretty general information just to get my computer to pass POST, and then assess the BSoD issues, so my apologies if this is still considered double-posting, but I obviously didn't have the computer with the correct information to compose a BSoD thread.

I'd left the computer without power for ~5 days, removed 1 of my 2, 4GB DIMMs. It passes POST, ran System Repair without a System Restore and got Windows to run in a functional state. I've now just used Macrium Reflect to restore an OS System Image to a point prior to the issue, with the help of Wolfgang, and here we are.

Prior to the System Restore, I ran chkdsk and it reported 'volume bitmap is incorrect, Windows found problems with the file system'. That's persisted through to this system image.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

That's an issue with the motherboard. A lot of motherboards fail to deal with all the slots filled-up, whereas all the slots may be individually good.

I ran chkdsk and it reported 'volume bitmap is incorrect, Windows found problems with the file system'.

For your HDDs:

• Seatools for DOS
• Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

Test them all.

Yep, that'll be because I'd compiled that .zip after I restored to a point prior to the crashes. :huh: I'm all sorts of bad things...

I have 2 modules. They work fine when a single one is installed, but if I install both in either channel, my motherboard doesn't pass POST. This isn't a new build, it's been fine for the past ~3 years... Does that state that my motherboard has become defective?

It is a clear indication of a not-too-good condition of a motherboard. But this scenario is observable for brand new boards too.

Even if you plan to swap the board, make it sure that your HDDs are in good condition .... as some issues are already detected with the storage.

Replacing the motherboard is what you would suggest at this point? And running the HDD diagnostic tools anyway? Or just wait it out to see if this computer is actually stable? I have a few months until the warranty licence for this motherboard ends.

Run Seatools for DOS. If the Disks are OK, replace the motherboard.

All my drives passed the short test. What is chkdsk saying then?
WELP, time to RMA and spend more time without a computer. Never heard of a motherboard failing like this, I find it odd. Thanks for your time, Arc.
