Hey guys,
First post here on the Win7 Forums. I've been lurking around for quite some time, got a little help with quite a bit of issues, but here's a first for me that I don't quite know how to describe.
So a bit of background:
I work for a church. Our video producer has a Mac Pro. He connects a 4TB drive by Firewire 800. I have a windows 7 Laptop with a Sata drive Docking Bay. Currently, to share his files, I grab the 4TB drive from his desk, and plug it into my computer.
Now for the problem:
As far as reading files on the drive, that's not a problem. I'm able to view the files in the drive without an issue. What I need to know is, Is there a way that, instead of having to physically unplug his 4tb external drive, Can I get any sort of device, desktop storage bay, etc, that I can pop in Two 2tb drives, and and he stores the files on that, and I can just grab one of the hard drives out of that device and read it when I need to?
Problems:
I don't want a NAS per se... I still want to physically walk over and grab the drive. Relying on pulling videos over network is a pain.
I don't want RAID, I want it to simply make two copies of the files, and I can grab one hard drive and read it from that one drive without a RAID setup.
If I'm not making any sense, please let me know. I'll try and make it a bit easier to understand.
