Hi everyone, I'm really stuck and hoping someone can help me figure out what I messed up.
My laptop has been caught in a frustrating "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop every time I boot up. I tried to fix it using the Command Prompt from the advanced options, but I think I made things worse with diskpart.
Here's what I did (and where the trouble started):
I ran diskpart then list volume and I selected the volume letter
I then used an assign command, intending to assign it or make it the primary partition (I honestly can't recall the exact command, but it was related to making it "active" or "primary").
The current critical issue is:
âWhen I run diskpart and then list disk, no disks are showing upmy main hard drive is completely missing. However, the hard drive IS still visible in the laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings.
I cannot clean install Windows 11 using a bootable USBthe installer says there's no drive to install to. What can I do to get my hard drive recognized again so I can install Windows or even attempt a repair? Did my diskpart command somehow hide or mess up the disk's visibility to Windows?
Any guidance or specific command suggestions would be hugely appreciated!
