I noticed there is one kb2862330 that is a security update for usb drivers. After further reading Microsoft states after installing this one you can run into 3 separate problems all BSD
Why do we need this update? and why do an update that can create one of the 3 problems?
I hid this security update till I understand what is going on

So why is Microsoft issuing it again?

I agree, and will not be installing that particular update, not least because it is a re-release of an earlier update that I successfully installed in October 2013. The re-release addresses an issue I didn't have, so I don't see the need to go at further risk by re-installing an update that was already successfully installed.

No problems so far, I never have any problems with updates though.

all succeeded and when my computer came back on it said installing device driver software and here is an attachment I forgot to put on, surprised no update for IE10 this month

I do not understand why it would install device drivers again, and I also have the one from Oct 2013 and I do not understand what is the security issue for this update? and I do not understand why there are 3 issues with it.

Tough install of that kb2862330...

Freeze at logon screen, waited 10mns before hard reboot. All the drivers are in place now but the version is different from the article ID: MS13-081: Description of the security update for USB drivers: October 8, 2013

All the updated USB drivers are 61.7601.22526 dated from Novembre 27, 2013 hour: 02.42.

I should have read before to unplug all devices before the update.!!

Well, they do not mention it again on this renewed page, but previous was mentioning to unplug devices and before install a particular Kb Article ID: 2533552 - Last Review: April 16, 2013 - Revision: 5.0

Yes indeed, i should have mention it. I was just telling about that other kb because patch tuesday was only drivers related.

Otherwise it is up to you not installing the kb2862330, and wait for appropriate security ones.

I can't address all of your questions, but here's my input / opinion

1. Softpedia is not the 1st place I look for information, I've even stopped using it as a source for applications (opinion)
2. Edit: As Noel points out below, KB#s are assigned for the life of a project. No KB# is reused. An update is given a new version#, but assigned to the same KB#.
   I phrased it poorly as recycle and that might have confused people.
   MS recycles KB #'s - I suppose it makes managing some updates easier (SURT and SFC come readily to mind)
3. Someone probably already posted this, but I just looked to post it as part of my answer:

4. I think the rest of the KB article (Known issues, resolution) applies to the original release and this (Jan 14) release addresses those issues. Just a guess.

By way of update, I've hidden kb 2862330 as I don't see the need to risk re-installing an earlier update that was installed ok last time, and I've installed the other three updates that were offered with no problems thus far on my gaming machine, I tend to leave my work machine for a day or so then I'll run the same updates as already offered on that one.
