I have only w7 Drew but I have got the very same error. AsSSD also says I have firmware DXM0 , Magician reports it the same as your though.

Yeah for me it doesn't matter if it's on or not. Anyway I think it might be an issue where this version of AS SSD has issues with the drive also being the OS drive. That's my guess anyway. As I said, with my OCZ vertex 4 drive no longer being the OS drive, AS SSD no longer crashes benching it.

Oh well, no sleep lost. Hopefully there's a new updated version coming soon.

The 840 Pro is certainly a great SSD, but...

One thing that Apple did right for the MBP is to move the storage to PCI Flash:

It is faster than any SSD and and in my view, the PCI Flash is the future...

The same MBK with VMware running Windows 8.1 isn't as good, but not bad at all:

Yes, the AS SSD did complete without error in Windows 8.1...

On the flip side, the resolution in Windows 8.1 is 2560x1600 on a 13" retina display is awesome. I love the fonts, even if they are on the smallish side. The best laptop platform for Windows 8.1 is the MBK, it would probably be faster if it is running natively and not as a virtual machine...

The MBP is MacBook Pro (a laptop basically), the MBK was a typo, and the PCI Flash, or more accurately PCIe Flash is SSD connected directly to the PCI interface of the computer. And Apple is Apple Inc., the company that makes iPhone, iPad, and the rest of the iCrap...

More and more companies are getting into the PCIe flash drive (or SSD) business:

Kingston Unveils First PCIe SSD: 1800 MB/s Read Speeds

In about three years, they'll be common in PCs, laptops, etc...

Those PCIe drives look nice on paper. But for the OS they are an overkill and for large amounts of data (where they would really shine) they are still too expensive.

Might be so, but it is nice to have in the MacBook Pro. The faster the OS/programs start, the better it is. Especially when the price had come down to the level, where it's compatible to the high end Windows laptops with similar features without the PCIe Flash. Like the Lenovo x1 Carbon....

Right, these sticks get hot. Mine too. I wonder why. I have 16 and 32GB sticks that stay cool - even after prolonged use.

Same here, it's only my 64GB stick that get hot, the smaller ones don't. I suppose it's because the flash memory is denser in the bigger ones.
